draft at the Portcullis in Stirling - Pours amber and smells of caramel and grainy malt. The flavor is mainly sweet with caramel and a touch of hops. It’s medium bodied and the hops are subdued enough that along with the sweetness put me in mind of scottish ales.

Canned from Morrisons. Pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma is grassy, metallic. Flavour is grassy, slighly malty. Heavily carbonated.

Can in Edinburgh. Dark brown beer with reddish tints and a very tall, tan head. Sweet, malty aroma, with caramel and a touch of chocolate. Amazingly sweet flavor. No hops at all, and no real bitter roasted character either. Just sweet, malty, molasses, and some fruitiness. Cola-like. There is just a touch of sour in there for balance. Rather sickening, I thought.

Draught @ Jinty McGuinty’s, Glasgow. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts. Flavour is sweet malty, soft, hint of toffee. Boring.

Keg at the bar at Glasgow Central station. Attractive reddish amber with a dense nitro-style cream head; aroma of red fruit; watery body with a seet and fruity taste; rather subdued bitter finish.

Pour is yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is kind of skunk with some grain in there. Kinda the same for the flavor. Just a plane old dumb lager. The Scotts really drink the hell out of this though.
