Description

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of rum barrel notes with light grainy and caramel malt notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix of grainy notes with plenty of rum barrel notes and light residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Rum is quite present and dominated most of the flavour profile. Interesting beer and different flavour profile from a unique brewery.

Bottle: Poured a murky bright orange/amber color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention. Aroma of boozy rum notes with residual sugar notes are very much dominant. Taste is mostly dominated by boozy rum notes with some light spices that are also dominated. Body is pretty full with medium carbonation and some apparent alcohol. The concept around this beer sounds really great on paper but the amount of rum in reality overshadows the other flavours.

Bottled, from Capsules Bière L’Axe du Malt, Québec City. Cloudy golden, rich firm head. Floral nose with pungent pink pepper and some lemon. Mid sweet with light-medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Floral buckwheat, real lemonade and pink pepper. Slight bitterness. The spicing is exquisite, and they’ve done an excellent job, getting the body and structure of the gluten free fermentables

330mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out of citrus, dirty wheat and some cardboard. Flavour brings out light citrus, a little salt, and some wheat. Finishes salty and citric. Not the most intriguing gose, but works decently well.

From mu frere: pours hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma is apricot and lemon and stuff. Taste is slightly sour with a large fruitiness. Slight salt. Weird for a gose but still good for a gluten free beer.

A hazed blonde wit with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light cloves, banana esters, light and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity banana esters, grainy notes, herbal notes, OK. Can.

Can: Poured a cloudy dirty orangey color ale with a nice large foamy head with OK retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of fresh citrus and grapefruit notes with nice floral undertones is very pleasant. Taste is a mix of fresh citrus notes with some grapefruit notes and some floral undertones with light pineapple and fresh tropical fruit notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Another solid offering and the grain to ensure the beer is gluten-free are not noticeable.

Can: Mint, grass, pine. Clear amber, thin head. Pronounced mango, grapefruit. Pine finish. Light to medium bodied, easy carbonation. My new favorite gluten free beer.
