Nitro pour at Lakefront. The Chocolate Cherry beer is often attempted, rarely with success. This one works. Nitro helps a lot, helping accentuate the cherry. Smooth, sweet,.never clumsy or syrupy. Drinks a lot more like a Porter to me than a Stout. A pleasant surprise.

Tap at Lakefront. Phenomenal beer. Fantastically malty, wheaty base beer plays quite well with the barrel. Big oak tones as opposed to booze, not to say there isn't a little warmth. Sweet, luscious. Excellent.

Bottle thanks to Drake! Brown, looks like some minor floating particles, no head, but carbonation is evident on the sides of the glass. Caramel, fig newton, brown bread nose. Brown leaf, caramel, vanilla, dark cherry, fig, burnt sugar. Tastes a bit boozy, but that's fine.

12oz can. Pretty enjoyable, straightforward. Honey malt gives it some decent malt depth. Hops are classical and crisp. Very sessionable. Good.

Bomber shared by Nate & Andrea at the April 2023 PS tasting, 4/8/23. 10 years to the day after bottling. Clear red, thin tan head, good retention. Aroma of toffee, toast, cherry. Oxidation notes. Taste is toffee, raisin, tinny hop. Full bodied. A bit harsh but still not too bad for a decade old. Glad to have been able to try this. Better late than never! I wonder if Chad still works there.

Bottle shared by Jay at the February 2023 PS tasting, 2/11/23. Black, thin brown head, average retention. Aroma of roasted malt, earth, chocolate. Taste is roast, booze, peppers. Harsh. Past its prime.

Tap at DU. Cherry tone is overbearing, dominating...too much. No finesse or beer like qualities. Interesting flavored malt beverage. Not that good, embarrassing actually.

Tap at OF. Brandy bomb. Thankfully only 8oz of this will ever be in my life. Harsh brandy tone, cheap alcohol. Fake raspberry can't do a lot here, though it adds to it for sure. Unruly, not good at all, should have been dumped down the drain. Not getting any vanilla. Brutal.

Tap at DU. Glad I was able to try this one. Beastly, rich, thick what I would call Quad. Heavy sugary tone, tastes like malt extract. Full bodied, bold, slow sipper. Not really stupendous for the style but unique and fun.

Full pour at Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The pour is an opaque black brown with a khaki head. The aroma is roast malt, cane sugar, and molasses. The taste is a big rich roast malt, pine, and the molasses of the nose, but more herbal than sweet. The palate is medium to heavier bodied with soft carbonation and the roast herbal molasses sweet finish. Haven't had a Baltic Porter in awhile, tasty stuff.
