Draft. Orange, caramel malt, and grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Moderately sweet orange/tangerine, caramel malt, and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Good body. Nice solid IPA.

Bottle share. Brown color with a small ring of beige head. Aroma is a light roast, earthy bits, and a little Belgian yeast. Taste is a little on the roasty side, lightly sweet, faint spice, and the Belgian yeast again.

12oz bottle thanks to rick. Pours out a rusty amber topped with a small head. Nose is rich malts some pit fruit and nice spice. Taste is more of the rich malts some pit fruit and spice.

On tap at 8 Degrees Plato Detroit pours an oily black with a ring of brown head. Nose of booze, molasses, licorice, inky, mild cake. Flavor has more complexity, pencil lead, pepper, ink, molasses, cake, mild smoke, coffee, some vanillin, lightly boozy. Full bodied, sticky finish.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled in 11/2015. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toffee, cream, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, light smoke, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and rye whiskey barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toffee, cream, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, light smoke, and roast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate roasted bitterness and rye/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toffee, cream, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, light smoke, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and rye whiskey barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and spicy rye balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/oak bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding barrel aged imperial cream stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt ad rye whiskey barrel flavors; and very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent barrel aged imperial cream stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Light, clear copper with a thin white head. Toasty caramel, orange, slightly oxidized scent. Orange and caramel malts,...fruit taste. A floral bitter and spiciness towards the finish. Pretty good.......even as a shared and past date bottle. And.....I forgot it was in the fridge for a month.... I’d like to find a fresh one someday.

Bottle thanks to Clownoiseur! Pours opaque black, medium tan head, dissipates with nice residual and good lacing. Aroma is whiskey, hints of peat, cocoa, vanilla, coconut. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, plenty of whiskey, hints of vanilla, oak tannin, cocoa, molasses. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Fair bit of acidity and some ABV heat distract from an otherwise excellent beer.

bottle - Hazy dark gold pour, smells of bready, grainy malt, mild yeast, and apples. It tastes sweet, a bit yeasty, and has some apple tartness. To me the Belgian ale flavor was stronger than the cider. Medium body. Fairly good.
