Bottle shared by Kyle. Pours a near clear amber with a hint of darkness and a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong note of baked blueberry with some backing sweetness and a hint of brett. Flavor has a good amount of earthiness from the brett with some earthy blueberry and a bit of sweetness.

Tap at the barrel cellar - it was hard to pin down how I felt about this one, even after a full glass - at first, I loved it - the nose was dominated by the NB love barrels and some lovely funky peach skin notes, as well as vanilla and oaky tannins - the flavor also reminded me very much of the NB love that was aged in the same whiskey barrels - equal parts sweet and funky - however, as the beer warmed, the more a very sharp note of acetone would cut through the aroma and flavor, intruding and pushing aside the more pleasant notes in the beer - an interesting experience, but a mixed bag as far as enjoyment goes.

Tap at the barrel cellar - fizzy, turbid peach-colored - nose is musky pineapple and horse blanket Brett, moldy peach skins, a bit of mildew - flavor is moderate to high acidity/sourness, mostly of the lactic variety, but also a bit of malic and acetic sourness as well - a mellow peach sweetness and some mild Brett funk settle in late and the sourness fades - a bit of white grape character - hints of oak on the tail end, with lingering, drying acid - tastes like a much more sour version of the petite sour - the acidity is a little high, washing out the other subtleties and it is hard to get past the mold/mildew note in the nose.

Tap at the barrel cellar - Dark ruby, purple tint - frothy, lasting head - the nose is pretty nice - a nice mix of earthy hops and the woodiness of the spruce, accentuated by the lightest bit of rustic brettiness - flavor is moderately sour and fairly woody up front, which is a bit bracing, making it take a while for the hops and moderately chocolatey malt base to come through - when they do, though, they shine pretty nicely, as does a very mild earthy Brett character - brett adds an interesting acidic punch that works well with the spruce - finish is lightly sour - pretty nice, really.

Tap @ the new barrel room. Cloudy yellow orange appearance with a white head. Big vanilla, coconut, orange citrusy, fairly tart, mango aroma. Fairly funky, a touch vinous, light grape, pear, pineapple, vanilla, soft flavor. Soft mouthfeel. Easy drinking and pretty tasty- looking forward to the barrel version!

Tap @ new barrel room. Hazy, darkish orange appearance with a small, bubbly head and little retention. Caramel corn, light butterscotch, tangy stone fruit, vanilla aroma. Strange aroma but i kind of liked it. Coconut, mild woody, vanilla, apricot, yeast, a touch funky flavor with low carbonation. Unfortunately, this tasted a bit off, but it was interesting in its own right. (3.4)
Bottle @ home with Jetson. Pours a hazy/slightly milk yellow orange appearance with a small white head. Incredibly potent bretty, huge pineapple, tangy tropical fruity aroma. Quite sour, big pineapple bretty, light oak woody, huge vanilla, tart flavor. There is a bit of caramel corn and butter, but it’s not intolerable.(3.5)
Fresh-hopped bottle @ home with Jetson. Jesus Christ, the aroma is full of weedy dandelions, sour pineapple juice, and hay stacks. very juicy, pineapple bomb, quite tart flavor with a ton of herbal elements. Wow, that’s kinda cool. (3.6)

Bottle @ Dan’s house. Pours a murky, maroonish copper appearance with a fairly small, off white head. Funky, tangy raspberry, a touch cheesy, tingly berry, prickly carbonated, vanilla, a touch woody, very funky, barnyard aroma. Prickly carbonation. Sweet yet pretty tart, cran-raspberry, very refreshing, tangy/mildly tart, vanilla, somewhat earthy, barnyard flavor with a lingering raspberry seed, tart flavor. Very refreshing and easy drinking. It’s a winner in my book. Update: Tasted again at Exira Beer Summit III. Really nice stuff. There is a light butyric acid note but it is not too pronounced.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a murky golden color with a large white head. The aroma is fruity hops, some biscuit and funk. A rich fresh and flavorful Belgian Ale with huge Pale Ale intent: sweet citrus, big hops throughout, low bitterness, yeast, banana. Good. Very clean and smooth.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a deep brown color with a medium white head. A light funky nose with some bitter pine and caramel. The flavor is unusual, certainly not a Black IPA as traditionally known: light funky brett, pine, caramel, brown ale like at times, sweet and bitter hops. Good, unusual.
