0.5 l bottle from an Europaspar in Graz. Well, my first Kristallweizen. Poured clear golden body with big head going down quite slowly. Not typical weizen aroma, quite hoppy with lemon, but there are of course other, less revealed scents like banana and other notes of yeast and wheat malt. Sourish flavor, quite hoppy. Also, bitterish and even fruity but that is really hidden. From that point I felt just a bit ordinary weizen character, which is specially noted in bittersweet finish, at the end gradually becoming more sweet in fruity way. High carbonation. Well, didn’t expect it to be so different of Hefeweizen, but not bad thing at all.

500ml bottle. Pours a big and loose white head with short duration. Amber body colour, a bit cloudy. Sweet spicy aroma mixed with fresh minerals. Thin - or better; watered - vanilla sweetness in flavour added by wheat, herbs and a light touch of sweet citrus fruits. Dry and abrupt ending. Diluted palate. So schmeckt der Winter - Well, not quite, but the nice winter label reminds me of the snow that we still is missing up north in Tromsø. Coming up soon: two new releases from the Mack Brewery (04.01.2008).

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a dense white head. Slight orange fruity and mild wheaty aroma. Flavour holds more of the same orange fruitiness and a mild citric flavour with a very subdued wheat note. Slight citric and bitter finish with a mild wheat note lingering into the far finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy and dark brown with a dense off-white head. Mild malty aroma. Flavour starts mild sweet to medium dry, not much of the classic wheat notes here apart from the classic wheat mellow texture. Finish holds a soft malt flavour, some alcohol presence and a mild bitterness.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear yellow with a dense white head. Fresh hoppy aroma. Flavour is mild malty with a fresh hops note. Slight esteric note is about the only thing giving away that this is a wheat brew. Ends with a decent bitterness.

The bottle is really nice, well done. The beer in the glas looks like a normal hefeweizen. But the taste is not the same. Very non-alcohol-like. Not really delicios, but there are worse non-alcohol beers.

The flavor is a little bit more sourish than the normal Hefeweizen from Erdinger. It’s interesting and not too bad.

1/2 bottle at home after lossing half of it to a fizzing accident when bag was droped. Bottle was intact and cap fiormly on. Opened about 20 hours after dropping and it still fizzed on popping cap... Deep dark very clowdy brown ... little smokey malts ... very fruity ... roast malts , a not quite smokey flavour ... little coffee ... alcohol does seem present though ... some cloves
