Can. Golden with a small creamy head. Subdued aroma of malts and some floral hops. Taste is kind of fruity, metallic and some biscuit. Slightly bitter. Medium to strong carbonation. Watery but creamy and smooth mouthfeel. A bit bland and boring but definitely sessionable.

Bottle. Dark amber coloured. Decent head with lots of lacing. Mild aroma of nuts, malts, toffee and honey. Taste is malty, slighty nutty and a dose of honey. Toffee and Sulphur. Aftertaste shows some hops. Medium to strong carbonation. Creamy. Not outstanding but nice and easy.

A very drinkable and tasty pale ale that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Good flavour and a surprisingly nice mouth feel for a canned beer.

Tap at Wotton House Hotel, Dorking. Nil aroma. Looks OK - pale golden, creamy head. Light bitter - pretty favourless. Watery. A lager-esque bitter.

Can (BBE looks like 2009, but could be 2008 too). Hilarious find on the flea market in Palosaari, Vaasa, and I took the chance to buy it for 2 euros, with the thought that it probably wasn’t any good to begin with. Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Bubbly and crisp carbonation still. Aroma is grassy, herbal, earthy and some bready malts. Flavour is quite similar, but also has a quite evident grainy and some cooked vegetably notes to it.

16 ounce can into imperial pint glass, best before 4/2017. Pours clear orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and creamy off white head with incredible, retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Dense creamy lacing clings down the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, biscuit, honey, light pear/apple, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, biscuit, honey, light pear/apple, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, biscuit, honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Light carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a nice English pale ale. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
