clear yellow, smooth white head. faint aroma, hard to detect. flavor is watery,malty sweet, faint hopped, nice balance, but pretty watery and weak. would work fine in a pint glass on a hot day instead of water.

Can, 3.5%. Weak aroma, perhaps a little green apple. Clear light amber colour. The flavour has a little green apple as well. Rough bitterness, not so pleasant.

Can 50 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a clear deep golden with a small off-white head. Nutty and phenollic nose. Thin and watery, a little caramel and nuts, loads of cardboard. Rough bitterness. 140810

On tap at the The Pub in downtown Louisville Fourth Street Live (great place). Pours golden with white head that stays around, nice lacing, and a little low carbonation. Not big on aroma, fairly well balanced, taste is creamy malt, light ester, and hint of nut. More like a combination of bitter and pale ale than a true bitter, a bit watery.

Canned. Pale yellow colour, white head. Aroma is grainy, some grass. Flavour is grainy, grassy, little sweet. Slightly crisp and dry.

This nitro can produced an amusing explosion and only a quick grab of my glass prevented a mess. I learned my lesson about these things a while ago, but the Boddingtons widget seemed particularly aggressive. Initially, the beer appears to be a nearly solid off-white head, a roiling mass of tiny bubbles jostling their way to the top. The head settles into a stiff foam, like an over-frothed cappuccino. It looks like you could rest change on top of that head. The beer itself is a pale-yellow gold, a bit disappointing after the big special effects display of the nitrogen. The smell is quite weak. Malty but thin and generic. The feel is a bit watery, which is particularly disappointing when compared to the tap version. I remember Boddingtons having a much creamier, richer feel from my trip to the UK. I had a particularly enjoyable night of drinking Boddingtons once on a ferry from France to Ireland. That was a weird twenty or so hours.

500mL can, pours a clear copper. Nearly nonexistent aroma. Very creamy and bitter mouthful - flavour is pretty unimaginative: subtle caramel and hops. Not bad.

Draft, clearly not cask and filtered at Heathrow T5, V bar. Pours clear and golden orange with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is caramelish and roasted. Smooth carbonation, could be nitro. Bitter and light caramelish roasted. Lingering roasted finish and vague metallic note.
