21/11 A 0.44 l nitro can with ball inside. Poured darker golden body with medium sized cascade head. Caramel and biscuit aroma, some paper as well, but fine. Flavor is weak, very watery, quite boring, I got used to that in bitters, but this one is really too weak. Some ugly bitterish finish, too short anyway. Not so good and really a boring beer.

Cask at Swan with Two Nicks in Worcester. This is almost comically bad. Hard candy flavour in the mouth and such a pale shadow of its former self. I remember having it in the early 90s and being very impressed with this as a session bitter. Now? Oh dear.

Boddington’s Draught Bitter (3.5%), purchased either at teh Geoffrey’s Of London in Antibes, or at a small store near the Antibes market. Whichever the case, a cane with a widget in it. Never a sign of quality beer. Poured a slightly darker golden body witha a small, thick, creamy and persistent nitro head (woooow how original and visually pleasing. eeh). Cardboardy nose, chalky, notes of alcohol (wait what?). Empty nitro crap. Surprise surprise. Ah well, at least I got the oh so lovely head with the oh so lovely cascade effect instead of a beer that isn’t ruined by something completely unnecessary. There is, unlike with some nitro beers, some proof of something coherent being underneat that nitrogen-induced wasteland. notes of sweet honeyish maltiness (kinda nice too) pop up and they aren’t all that bad, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is extremely unimpressive.

Canette 500ml.

(Nitro keg at Huxley’s, London Heathrow Terminal 5, 26 July 2009, labeled Bass Extra Smooth. I guess this is the one) Amber colour with creamy, off-white head. Malty, slightly nutty nose with a touch of caramel. Malty, nutty taste with notes of caramel and toffee. Below medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Fairly dry. Hardly exciting but drinkable.
