12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear copper color with lots of carbonation. Medium head with good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel and leafy, citrus hops. Taste is bitter citrus hops with a bit of toffeeish malts. Medium bodied. Pretty decent.

Bottle (2005): A reddish amber pour with a finger of sticky beige head. Aroma is rather potent with fruitiness, husky malts, and some florals. Citrus sweets and even a little bready. Wow, organic with a potent aroma... this might be good! The first sip reminds me of a year-old Double Bastard. Holy taste organic beer!!! Nice citrus, caramel, toffee, bready malts, florals, and even some candied sugar. Nice faded hops presence. Warming and soothing. At first, I can’t believe all the low ratings. For an organic beer damn right I am impressed! Then, as it warms, it loses a lot of the flavor complexities and gets a little husky and earthy. Shit. It is an organic beer after all. I haven’t even finished half the glass and it warms up enough to get bland. Still, for $3.19 per bomber I don’t mind having it a bit cold! I’ll put this back in the fridge every 15 minutes at that price! **Note: If you can’t tell yet I have no confidence in organic beer. Nothing personal, but less chemicals equals less taste. This brew is certainly better than most organic ales. 7/4/8/4/15

Pours hazy copper with gold edges and thin off white head. The aroma has notes of sweetness, grains, sugar, a bit of pumpkin, floral hops and a touch of cinnamon. The taste is similar, too bad, with a layer of odd tartness followed by some malts, mild hops, a bit of metal and very little pumpkin, if any.

Bottle. Copper beer with a slight tan head. Light malt aroma with some earthiness and light darker malts. Malt and caramel flavor with earthiness and light spice. Medium bodied - very smooth mouthfeel. Caramel and spice lingers with some light earth.

Bomber pours clear copper with modest frothy off white head. The aroma is mild with sweet tangelo citrus, malt sweetness, a touch of earthiness and hinting toward organic malt cardboard. The taste is tangelo hops mixing with a pulse of malt sweetness making it taste sweet and citrusy right off. Toward midway I get increasing hop bitterness with pine hops and hop spiciness. The malt sweetness in the background balances this brew out nicely and only shows hints at the organic malt notes I consider off and distracting. But since the organic malt twang is so light it is not a problem. It ends with delicious citrus hop bitterness.

Pours deep amber with full lumpy bumpy tan head. I can smell the gingerbread cookie aroma from an arms length away. Very nice. Without even tasting it yet it may be the best Bison brew I can remember having. I get inviting gingerbread, cherries and a touch of roasted malt in the aroma upon closer inspection. The taste is similar with gingerbread mixing with cherry compote and sweet grape jam. Near midway I get a moment of roasted malts before the gingerbread notes return in force and take the experience to closure. Very nice winter brew.

Very slightly hazy orange/golden coloured body with a super-thin white head. Aroma of light coriander seed, wheat and curacao. Some spices noticeable also. Light to Medium-bodied; Sharp pungent spices with yeast and wheat noticeable in the taste. Aftertaste bitter, but shows coriander seed and subtle spices. Overall, a decent beer - a bit more effort and it might be worth drinking! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 28-May-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Bomber from BevMo Valencia. Nose is grainy wheat, ginger, and a caramel note. Transparent dark brown with a big glass lacing beige head. Flavor of a spiced porter; coffee, ginger, caramel, and some breadiness. Decent spiced porter.

Hazy golden coloured body with tints of orange and amber, along with a super-sized dense, frothy white head. Very nice appearance! Aroma of subtle spices, malt, wheat, yeast and hops. Not really much basil to smell from this one, probably a good thing, but more honey and malt, coupled with yeast than anything else. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong potent wheat and yeast tastes along with spices (coriander seed is in this one, it seems) and hops. Afteraste, some of the basil and honey seem noticeable after the sip in a pleasant (non-vegetal) way - a very nice treat and somehow, remarkably done! Overall, a pretty good beer, odd to see the label - but much better than it sounds when you see it in the store! Worth picking up if you like some of the better herb/spice category and if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from a small wine & beer store in Richmond, Virginia on 05-November-2006.

Farmhouse Reserve 2007. Pours with a hazed golden yellow body with a small, white head and good lace. Aroma of sweet pears, earthy brett, honey and pepper. Taste is honey pepper and bread dough. Fizzy and dry. Not as good as I was hoping for.
