Originally rated March 2006. Bought a 4-pack of this stuff at the Dépanneur Chenier in Hull, Quebec. New product, and not in six-pack like the other Bowes beers. Pours a very pale yellow colour with really heavy carbonation. The head is actually not bad at all, white and frothy, and medium in retention. The nose starts off malty, but ends up in this chemical scent. The taste starts off on this corn syrup, but end up as well in the chemical field. Actually had a huge corn taste, for such a light beer. Should of stick to it.

Originally rated April 2006. This cheaply priced Quebec lager pours a blonde colour with a decent white creamy head. The intense carbonation keeps a good retention, and lacing is also creamy around the glass. At first, there is a nice clean malt scent, but later, a rusty / alcohol aroma comes out. Mouthfeel is watery and slightly oily. When dranked from the can, this beer tastes like water, but when dranked from a glass, the corn really stands out. Grain appears in the aftertaste. The whole glass is covered with lace, as it goes down... quite nice. AKA Bowes Original Lager, this beer is easy to swill down (caution headaches), but is better than what most will say.

Originally rated April 2006. This one came with a free big bag of chips, also called Gros Cochon, and are an imitation of Miss Vickies’ black pepper and lime. Great promo... and the guy at the convient store told me this was a new product they had just received a few days prior. Not much information anywhere on this brewery. Pours a golden-amber colour with a white foamy head. This one dissipates at an average pace and leaves spotted lacing. Lively carbonation, but not too crazy, leaving a cap over the brew. The nose is malty with some good bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel that is slightly creamy. The taste though is a watered-down corn syrup with a little metallic aftertaste. The chips finally tasted better. If you find this promo, try and get the six-pack instead... now I am stuck with 11 bottles of these.

Originally rated April 2006. Pours a pale golden-yellow colour with a white frothy head. Heavy carbonated, keeping the retention in a good way, and leaving a nice amount of lace. The nose is chemically malted. Watery mouthfeel with a slightly dry finish. Taste of corn and mild grain malt, but mixed with a big metallic flavour. Not very appealing. Does seem to disappear after a while, but still....

Originally rated July 2006. After having IGA’s Nos Compliment Premium, I remembered that I had forgotten one bottle of these (it’s direct competition)... well, lets just say it was cellaring. Pour the same golden colour, but its white head is less big, less creamy and leaves a different king of lace (uniform, all around the glass). Sweet malt nose and thin body. The taste is very weak, and really hard to detect anything except light malt. Definitely not as good as the Lakeport brew.

Found in Wakefield, QC at the Axep grocery shop and comes in a 4-pack of cans. Pours a golden-amber colour with a big white frothy and almost creamy head that stays a long time and creates spiderweb lacing. The nose is a nice blend of sweet and grainy malts with decent hop and notes of honey and citrus. Wet mouthfeel with nothing special, but pretty refreshing. Again the hop is present in the taste with light malt and a touch of caramel. I am pretty surprised at how much hop is in this one for a cheap wannabe Irish brew. Much better than their "Das Brau" as both are brewed in the States and brought up to Canada, in order to put the word "import" (thinking it is from Ireland).

Originally rated August 2006. This one was on special at Maxi in Hull, Quebec. It pours a golden colour with a small white fizzy head that stayed a bit and left some light lacing. A small layer coats the brew. No carbonation though. Vegetable and malty aromas. The taste is mild with light grain malt and some hop. Easy drinking swill... and cheap.

Canette 473ml.

Originally rated May 2007. This 40oz. malt liquor come in a different shaped bottle, looking more like a German bomb from 1942 (just imaging things). Its colour is golden, with a decent white creamy-foam head and heavy carbonation. I think the beer got its name from the motion that the bubbles go in, once poured in a glass. After the head disappears slowly, a nice collar of lacing is left. The aromas start off fresh, but leads to a chemical strong nose, to then end in a weaker grain scent with a hint of mint. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, with no burn what so ever. The taste is mildly bitter with that chemical wave, and that is about it. Some light corn in the aftertaste. Really, not as bad as I thought. Alcohol very well-hidden, so recommended to make your head spin, but not vomit.
