We have not yielded to the trend of adding syrups and berries to our cider. Instead we have taken a more grown up approach with care and attention that is needed to blend a fine cider worthy of acclaim from some of the most respected critics, and our ever growing following of loyal customers.
Hallets and Blaengawney are brands of the same business.

Bag in a box at Made Inn Ashford. Clear gold colour no head. Some sweetness from the px no doubt. The base cider is OK. Medium dry. Light apple fruit perfume on the aroma. Dryish finish. Some px sweetness. OK I thought. Was hoping for better.

Bottle courtesy of Minutemat, part of Euroswap 1/2019. Very clean, apple-centered with no noticeable funk. A hint of acetic acid, but only a pleasant amount. Moderate amount of clean apple complexity. Moderate sweetness, rather sweet, light bitterness and very light sourness. Finidhes sweet too. Very refreshing, easy drinking, quite classic example.

Half-pint, cask as Hallets Oak Cask Limited Edition at Old Fountain. Shared with Magne. Bright pale golden body, naked at the surface, no lacing. Modest, mid-sweet apples on the nose. Taste of rather sweet apples and wood. Smooth and clean in the mouth. Fair enough, quite sweet though. (London 10.01.2019).

Box @ Stable Cheltenham. Finally track down this elusive blend. Pours clear gold, soft rum sweetness on the nose. Fairly light, oily on the palate with medium apple fruit and cheek-sucking tannins welcoming you in. Very light rum influence, though not a bad thing. Good stuff.

At a tasting, clear yellow color with greenish taints, aroma of apple and sulphur with hints of horse sweat and spice, quite sweet apple flavor with some vanila, lightish sourness. Nice and enjoyable.
