Description
Ridgeway Brewing was established in 2002 by master brewer Peter Scholey (former head brewer at Brakspear) and his wife Vanda. The name comes from the ancient trade route that winds its way through English countryside between small towns. It has been around for thousands of years, adapting with the changing times, The reason why we chose the name Ridgeway, apart from living on it, was that we hope to create lasting experiences, believe in the long term and love the outdoors.

Light sweet flavour with pleasant toasted biscuits, mellow leafy bitterness, a little yeast, straw, lemon rind. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with fresh bready pale malts, sourdough, biscuits, light bitter hay. Really tasty and drinkable.

Clear amber beer, short bubbly head. Smells sweet and fruity with a dash of caramel. Flavour is quite sweet initially with fruit, a little Christmassy spice and then it goes very boozy. Quiite sharp though not overpowering. it's not bad but despite the strength it doesn't have the richness that the best barley wines have to go with the blend of flavours.
