Bottle at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 07/09/12. Hazy dark amber with carbonation evident, thin off-white head. Belgian yeast on the nose allied to toffee and dark sugars. Taste follows, hoppy, some citrus and a little wood. Medium to full in body with a slight alcohol finish.

Bottle from Jacks Westholme Stores, Goring-on Thames, Oxon consumed at Bromyard folk Festival, Bromyard, Herefordshire Saturday 8th September 2012 Hazy orange/amber with slim white head. soft in mouth with a big hit.quite boozy, in fact really boozy, but pretty good. Some citrus, dry, in fact despite an underlying sweetness it is really quite dry. Good but would have been better. Sat on a hay bale at back of The Bay Horse pub whilst watching the excellent Earlsden Morris. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2

0.33l bottle. A really really oily black pour, and I'm having a hard time to provoke a decent head on this one. Bubbly, small and quickly sidesticking. Soft vanilla, lightly woody and boozy, dark roasted - almost on the border of bitter burned, and some dark chocolate tones as well. It's thick and near chewy in texture, with a soft carbonation level. In taste this is really dark and heavy roasted. Lots of dark bitter chocolate - almost burning on the palate. Lots of vanilla biscuits in the finish and aftertaste combined with rich dark and strong chocolate. Lots of flavors, perhaps a bit to raw still, but definitely tasty. 02.08.2012

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 22/06/12. Dark copper/amber in colour with a small to medium white head. Fresh aromatic hop aroma with a little fruit and caramel. Dark caramel malt taste with mild hops, a little bready and bitter finish. Medium bodied with a good level of carbonation.

Bottle 500ml.Light unclear medium to dark amber colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, roasted, leather, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, grapefruit. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, spicy hops, caramel, dry, leather notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to fizzy. [20120423]

Bottle at Bruce’s Housewarming Party Tasting, London. Bottle 626 of 660. Pours black-brown with a medium brown, creamy head. Chocolate nose with light roast and some mild, burnt wood. Medium sweet flavor, faintly tangy with some light, fruity notes, wood and mild earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately smokey finish with some tangy, wet wood, charcoal and a bit of burnt earth. Not bad.
