This beer pours a clear dark amber color with a thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Citrusy hops, berry and malt aroma. Light body with flavors of semi-tart blackberry, hops and caramel malt. The finish is mildly bitter and fruity with a blackberry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bouteille 650ml, bottle share. Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka aérée. Arôme de malt torréfié, Bourbon, sucré, sauce soya, noix de coco, vanille. Goût très sucré, sauce soy, café, vanille. Carbonatation faible, corps dense.

Can shared at au revoir tokyo at Gremlin. Thanks Gregg! Light grainy crackery malt nose with some faint lemon in the background. Crisp and clean and light on the palate. A bit simple, but nice and dry, crisp finish.

Can shared at au revoir tokyo at Gremlin. Thanks Gregg! Lots of orange and grapefruit in the nose. A bit of toasted caramel on the palate, more citrus. Easy drinking and the balance is almost perfect. Great midwest IPA.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 8/2016. Pours crystal clear golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart apricot, peach, lemon, lime, pineapple, berries, green apple, white grape, light pepper, oak, vanilla, wheat, biscuit, hay, straw, light funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, apricots, oak barrel, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart apricot, peach, lemon, lime, pineapple, berries, green apple, white grape, light pepper, oak, vanilla, wheat, biscuit, hay, straw, light funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/acidic tartness and light yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart apricot, peach, lemon, lime, pineapple, berries, green apple, white grape, light pepper, oak, vanilla, wheat, biscuit, hay, straw, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, apricots, oak barrel, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from tartness/acidity as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/acidic, and slightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected for 6%. Overall this is an awesome fruited sour ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, apricots, oak barrel, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced acidity/tartness. Not quite as complex as the Amber Saison Sour, but still very impressive and highly enjoyable.

Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak barrel, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from acidity/spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/acidic, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an outstanding sour amber saison! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak barrel, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced acidity. This has a lot of barrel presence and feels pretty close to a Flanders red overall. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Poured a black color porter with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of vanilla and bourbon with some sweet candy-lie notes and faint roasted malt notes is quite pleasant. Taste is a mix of faint roasted malt with plenty of residual sugar notes with light perfumy notes, some vanilla and bourbon notes are also observable. Body is somewhat full with nice creamy texture with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. The coconut and turpido sugar makes for a very nice dessert type beer but sugar does become overwhelming at some point.

can - Pours clear amber and smells mainly of blackberries. The flavor is sweet blackberries, malt, and a little bit of hops presence. As others have noted, this beer doesn’t seem to be an IPA. If they used a substantial amount of hops, it’s completely buried by the large amount of blackberries. That’s not to say it’s a bad beer. It’s actually a pretty good fruit beer. Why is it sold as an IPA though?

can - Hazy gold pour, very citrusy aroma. The flavor is moderately bitter and heavy on the grapefruit. Not being much of a grapefruit fan though I enjoy some notes of it in beer, this was heavy on the fruit for me. It’s still a fairly good medium bodied brew.
