Can. Sludgy orange brown with a white head that's soon a scummy coat. Aroma of under-ripe tropical fruit, green berries, sharpish white grapes. Upon a taste there's some more generous orange as well which balances the fruity aromatics well. Just crackers underneath really. Some resin and a little bitterness at the end. Still not really my thing.

Can. Pale gold, a 2cm white head. 3+ Floral and peppery aroma with light bread behind. 7+ Light bodied. Clean with mere hints of bready richness before that's swept away by a proper thwack of bitterness that's nicely spicy.

Can. Very dark red brown with a fat coat of tan head. Aroma of mocha, oatcakes, caramel. Big but silky and so clean it slips away. Tastes as it smells initially but then there's an almost spiky peppery bitterness at the end. Warmth there too. Good but lacks the depth of Frozen Sea.

Can. So it's inspired by Vitus, which I like but have never quite loved. Somewhat cloudy golden amber with a large white head that lasts forever. Aroma of banana, sticky breadcrust, spices. Creamy texture. More forthright than Vitus, with moderate sweetness, tangy wheaty breadcrust, some fairly obvious alcohol, lots of coriander, some cloves & some peppery bitterness at the end. I liked that finish at first but it does become a little wearing after a while.

Can. Clear dark brown with a fat coat of beige head. 3+ Strong bread aroma with some caramelised crusty edges. Rich but not hugely sweet with some chocolate and singed hints before a peppery bitter finish. Good in a style I rarely love.

Can. Almost clear gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of citrus peel and blossoms, hay, pepper. Dryish with clean hay under taut citrus and spice. The citrus is kind of floral, making the whole thing seem not too far away from normally accented pilsners (which is both clever & skillful). Fairly bitter. Very refreshing.

Can. Brown with a modest cream head. Malty aroma with breadcrust, caramel, chocolate and some nuts. A fair bit of body, low carbonation. Sweet and malty with near balancing spiced bitterness. Some dried fruit. Fair enough. The finish is subtle and grew on me.

Can. Clear amber, a small off white head. Aroma of bread, peach, toffee apple, spices. Light but not watery. Singed toffee malty with autumnal fruit. Spicy bitterness is firm enough. Pretty good proper session bitter.

Can. Amber with a small and brief white head. Shyish aroma with papaya, boot polish, old lemons, crackers. Classy balance between soft fruity flavours and persistent acidity. Fruit gives way to oak and a grisette-like snap at the end.

Can. Golden amber, a white head flashes away. Funky aroma of griddled chilli peppers, sour plums, crackers - fine but unexpected. Then the figs are there in the taste, but with funky lemon and smoke. The sourness is deep rather than sharp. Gently woody end. Refreshing, involving, original.
