330mL can, pours jet black with a tiny tan head. Aroma has plenty of rum barrels, lots of butterscotch, a touch of vanilla, and lots of brown sugar. Flavour is very sweet, with sweet brown sugar, butterscotch, light-to-moderate rum barrel presence, caramel, and some dark dried fruits. Cohesive, delicately barrel-aged, and rich despite not being brutal. Excellent.

Poured from 375mL can (released June 2025; bb 30 June 2030). Very dark brown with small tan head. Burnt dark sugars and molasses, mild soy sauce characteristic, soft rum barrel, nicely balanced.

Day 3 (I’ll do Day 2-a Mexican lager during the day tomorrow):

Slow Lane Conditioned Hazy Pale Ale 5.4%

Milky honey gold with white foam that leaves soapy looking lacing behind. It’s got quite a bit of dankness in the aroma. The taste adds citrus and skunk weed notes on a dry light body. Pretty good.

Can. Very dark brown, a beige head doesn't last the pour. 6- Aroma of dried fruit - raisins, wild figs, rich sweet dough, spices. Full bodied but neither all that sweet nor overtly boozy. Strong fruit bread. Gently spiced bitterness with a little rummy swell of warmth is the difference between this and Fourfold.

Can. Very dark brown, very brief tan head. Roasty with singed dark sugars, mocha, hints of brine. Some liquorice with the caught sugar notes, lovely weight of roast and bitter chocolate. Moderate, slightly spiced bitter end. Mouthfilling, involving.

2025 version. Can. Syrupy black pour with less than a coat of brown head. Brooding roasty aroma with dark sugars, mocha, vanilla/ pepper oak. Really syrupy (more than any other I've tried). Lots of roast that verges on acrid but is tamed by heavy sweetness that is in turn lightened (a bit) by oak and bitterness. Good, but OtT.

Can. Clearish pale amber with a cm of white head. Aroma of under-ripe tropical fruit, citrus, hints of pine, crackers. Light bodied. Lots of lime and pepper, some citrus blossoms. Just enough crackery malt to support the aromatics. Highish bitterness. Thirst crusher.
