Tap at OBF as ClusterF#ck Single Hop IPA. Pours dark gold with a slight white head. Fruity citrus aroma. Med + body. Flavor is light malt with lots of earthy/fruity/citrus hop. Mild burn. Dry fruity finish. Nice!

Tap at Double Mountain, Hood River, 24/05/13. Hazed orange amber with a thin off white head. Nose is hops, light pine, bitter orange and citrus notes. Taste comprises sugars, toasted malts, orange pith, light grapefruit, hops. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, hop bitterness at the curtain call. Ok IPA.

Tap at Double Mountain, Hood River, 24/05/13. Lightly hazed golden with a thin off white head. Nose is yeast esters, bitter orange, spice, touch of booze, dark fruits. Taste comprises dark fruits, alcohol evident, light spice, dark toffee, grass, yeast. Full end of medium bodied with fine carbonation, lightly spiced finish with a touch of warming alcohol. An OK Belgian offering, alcohol is fairly well integrated and not overpowering.

Sample at the Ale Wine & Spirits beer tasting on 06/14/2013: Pours a hazy orange-gold color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, hops and sweet malt. Medium to full body with flavors of resiny hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap at Double Mountain, Hood River, 24/05/13. Hazed light yellow with a thin white head. Nose is pale malts, grass, lemon squash. Taste comprises cereals, pale malts, citrus. Medium bodied with light spritzy carbonation. Sub average kolsch which doesn’t really capture the style for me, more akin to a helles.

Taste comprises bitter orange, light hops, citrus, hint of pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish with light hop bitterness. Ok if a little uninspiring.

Tap (nitro) at Double Mountain, Hood River, 24/05/13. Nose carries dark malts and toffee notes. Taste comprises toffee, dark malt, biscuit. Light body, too thin, smooth on the palate. Dull!

Cask at Double Mountain, Hood River, 24/05/13. Lightly hazed golden amber with a decent sized white head that retains well. Nose is bitter orange, citrus, peppercorns, hops. Taste comprises hops, light pepper flavour, grass, orange pith, citrus, malt. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, excellent conditioning one of the best cask beers I’ve had in the US, light bitterness in the finish. Decent IPA - the peppercorn didn’t over power or bastardise the IPA in any way and the conditioning was spot on - I enjoyed this much more than the base beer which I had at the same sitting!

Tap at Horse Brass, Portland - 07/11/12. hazed mid amber with a thin off white head that soon clears to the edge and forms a pond. Nose comprises pale malts, floral tones, light hops. Tastes of light caramel malts, hops, touch of citrus. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a light bitter finish.

Keg at the taproom. Hood River, 24/05/13. Lightly hazed golden amber with a thin white head. Nose carries hops, bitter orange, light fart, grapefruit. Taste comprises bitter hops, sugars, bitter grapefruit, light pine, caramel malt. Full bodied with fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Respectable enough DIPA but no world beater for this genre!
