22 oz. bottle from Wine Warehouse. Viscous orange pour with a small head that quickly disappears. I’m looking for the rye in the aroma but all I find are a sweet maltiness balanced by a bitter hoppiness. Citrusy hops with some rye. Alcohol is hidden well.

Bottled - tasted blind. A deep red beer with a disappearing tan head. The aroma is very sweet malty with strong notes of caramel as well as medium notes of alcohol, and lighter notes of whiskey and wood. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, alcohol and lighter notes of roasted bread, chocolate, adn medicin, leading to a very dry and bitter finish.

Bottle courtesy of CigarCityBrew. This beer aged very welll. Pours a dark ruby with a brownish head.Aroma reminds me of a porter, lightly smokey/roasted, chocolate / toffee malt. Taste is thick and sugary, very sweet, filled with nice flavors. Alcohol was noticable. Highly enjoyable and drinkable.

500ml bottle....came out in late 2006 I believe, closet stored until July 22, 2008. Deep chestnut brown-black color, with a creamy head. This has mellowed exceptionally well, but I remember enjoying the beer when it was new on the shelf in 2006. Very deep malty flavors, very rich. Like a dark Barleywine in some ways, but with ten malts and ten hops it really captures a lot of the classic strong beer flavors. An excellent and fully respectable beer. Gains points for how well it aged.

Cloudy brown appearance. Yeasty, Belgian like aroma. Flavor has dried fruit and sweet malt. It could pass for a Belgian ale. Very easy to drink.

500ml bottle. Murky Brown-amber color. Mellow, malty aroma. The taste is very malt centered, but with a pungent caramel and fig flavor. A fairly large disappointment considering the only other fig beer Ive had, Blaugies Darbyste, was quite excellent. The dark and amber malts don’t really compliment the fig flavor that well in my opinion. Not horrible, but certainly not one of Hebrew’s more impressive beers.
