Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. Roast chocolate malt and smoke aroma. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet roast and rich chocolate with light dry finish. Good

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled in 9/2012. Pours dense pitch black color with a 2 finger dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big chocolate, cocoa, molasses, toast, toffee, dark bread, raisin, prune, leather, tobacco, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted/bready malt, dark fruit, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, toast, dark bread, raisin, prune, leather, tobacco, light char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of roast/char/herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, toast, dark bread, raisin, prune, leather, tobacco, light char, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of dark/roasted/bready malt, dark fruit, and earthy hop flavors; with a nice roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly syrupy/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a moderate warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent strong ale. All around great complexity and balance of dark/roasted/bready malt, dark fruit, and earthy hop flavors; and smooth to sip on slowly for the huge ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle. Burgundy brown unfiltered body. Thin beige head rims the glass. The aroma has some bittersweet chocolate, approaching gingerbread. A pretty enjoyable Brown Ale, maybe a little too much malt depth and too little hops? Drinkable, OK.

Bottle: Cloudy, light orange with a creamy, light beige head. Minty-resiny, tropical hop and fruit aroma. Taste is bright orange malt, grapefruit-peel. Tingly carbonation, lively citrus.... Very tasty bittering/sweet fruit blending. A nice one.

Bottle at Americanos. Slightly hazy bright orange pour with big foamy head. Aroma is very faintly hoppy (very faintly). Taste is as promised - hoppy (but not that hoppy) lager. A bit plasticky hop flavor. Not as good as other hoppy lagers like Clown Shoes' one or Sam Adams IPL. Not bad but wouldn't get again.

22oz bottle from my local Total Wine. Aroma was lots of dried fruits, sweet dates, raisins. Flavor was lots of boozy roasted malts, dates. I won’t say this is a boozy mess, but it was a lot of sweet sugars, light nutty notes and plenty of booze in this.

Dark beer with a slightly volatile odd mild bready aroma. Not sure how I feel about beers that infer religion. Wew, first swig is a big nasty Nellie lick on the jaw. Strong ale? Fer-sher. Second swig of this alky laced medicine is over the top. Such a strong holiday brew. Like many winter brews but less spices and more alky. YES, strong big over the top medicinal effects as well. Ass kicker from beginning to end.

Bottle at home in Salisbury. Pours deep gold with a frothy, off-white head the aroma holds dried pale malts, biscuits, pithy citrus and a bit of orange rind. Light to medium sweet flavor with moderate bitterness, slight grass, pine needles, dry pale bread, so e lemon and tangerine pith light rind. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Decent balance to finish, more of the same character-wise. Nothing wrong here.
