Cask. Salty, slightly fruity liquorice aroma. Almost black colour with brown hue. Small light brown head. Slightly sweet and fruity flavour with a little salt and liquorice. Mouthfeel could be a bit thicker. Slightly roasted aftertaste.

Dark brown, but not quite black. Light aroma, mostly malt. Sweet flavour with coffee, chocolate and some fruityness, peaches maybe. Smooth and creamy.

[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A red-brown beer a small brown head. The aroma is slightly roasted combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is smooth.

[Cask at GBBF 2003] An amber beer with a small head. The aroma is slightly malty. The flavor is very malty from a good malt blend with notes of nuts. It is a bit on the sweet side, since it doesn’t have enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. It ends on a woodyness. All in all an OK beer.

Bottled. Dark amber colour with medium white head. Aroma of mixed berries and a bit fruity. Taste is sweet fruity at first with bitter tone in the finish. Nice bitterness in aftertaste.

Not the best bitter at all. Very weak specimen of the bitter style, it lacks complexity. Bit skunky hops and malts, and not the pleasant bitterness as some/many other bitters.
