Hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoons on 13th October 2023. It's not Ruby in colour, more amber with an off-white crust. More leafy than floral in the aroma, no dark fruits for me either, Rye giving an earthy touch; didn't take to it.

[Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley.] A light chestnut coloured pour with a loose cream head; floral aroma; dry fruity taste with a slowly building bitterness; then a nutty finish.

Amber / light copper with a frothy off-white head. Malty and a little fruity, not much of an aroma, some earthiness in the mouthfeel and some sweetness pulling through

Cask at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Poured a mostly clear amber colour with a thin white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a smooth, sweet toffee, earthy, herbal tobacco, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Sainsbury's, Salford. Golden with a small head and a golden style ale with a pleasant hoppy light sweetness. This is a tasty session brew.

Appearance: opaque deep brown to black, good ivory-coloured head. Aroma : Roasted barley, coffee, floral hop. Taste: Pretty dry.Dominant roast, coffee, pronounced hopping. Light to medium ending bitterness. Mouth feel: Light to medium body, soft to average carbonation. Overall: A pedigree stout.
