Bottle. Pale yellow color with whitish foamy small head, doughy aroma, strong doughy yeast flavor and sweetish bland taste. Poor excuse for a lager.

(Can) Cloudy yellow with big white head. Aroma is fairly subtle but the dominant notes are spcice and ester. Lovely velvety mouthfeel from fine carbonation. Flavour has lemon tartness, light malt sweetness, hints if banana and spice. Overall a very pleasant and refreshing beer.

Bottle from Yamaya. Big chocolate nose, dry, rich, nutty. Not very beer-like, but pleasant. Dark brown with orange tints and a nice, fine head. Chocolate flavor, some dark malts, mostly cocoa fudge with a bit of nuttiness. Simple, not much beer character. Not terrible, but not all that good either.

Can. Dark brown with a pretty, bubbly head. Roasty malt nose, with chocolate and light soy sauce. Dry, roasty flavor with some sweet chocolate, big bitterness. Body is a bit thin. Really dry, bitter finish. Interesting, decent.

Can from Yamaya. Cloudy pastel yellow, fine low head. Aroma of wheat malt and a bit of citrus hops. Light esters. Flavor of cardboard, crackers, very, very light citrus hop flavor, but a nice peppery hop finish. Not much wheat falvor, not near enough hop falvor. Decent, but far too simple and bland.

Bottle from a Japanese restaurant in SF
Appearance: Clear golden with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma and taste of pale malts, corn, grain and honey. A decent pale lager.

Can from Yamaya. Very cool can. Earthy, fruity hop nose, cherry, grass, caramel. Amber-brone with an enormous head (carried in my backpack...) spicy hop flavor, bitter and peppery, fruity, with chocolate more than caramel, cherry. Quite English in hopping. Nice balance, tasty enough, though not much spunk.

Bottle. Pale gold with a rapidly disappearing white head. Aroma is grainy and a bit corny with some grass. Thin. Taste is more pleasant than the aroma, and is slightly sweet with little bitterness but quite dry at the end so what bitterness there is lingers. There’s hay and perfumed rice and it’s all quite clean. Looks awful and the first sniff was pants, but really not bad at all after that.

Draught at the Hub. Hell, if Jonno is gonna add these, then I’ll sure as hell rate ’em. Deep golden blonde with a thick, fine head. Nice citrus and metal hop nose, lemon, hay. Creamy flavor, sweet malts, wheat, citrus--sweet orange. A bit sweet, but with a dry finish. Full body. Smooth. Good bitterness. Very drinkable stuff.

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body with carbonation. Fruity earthy candy aroma with dusty yeasty bready notes. Dry-sweet fruity raisiny taste with citric strawy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish raisiny malt aftertaste with fruity resiny notes. Nice, drinkable, harmonic. Has some character. (0.35l can, from CitySuper IFC, Hong Kong.)
