Half, keg at Magnet. Hazy apricot coloured body. Patchy white head. Solid lacing. Fresh tropical fruity hops on the nose. Succulent taste of citrus, orange and lemon. Mild malty sweetness beneath. Fresh fruity ending, smoothly bitterness. Pleasant (Stockport 03.02.2015).

Clear, slightly fizzy golden beer with a thick frothy head. Dry grapefruit aroma. Flavour is similar but with a touch of fruity sweetness to lend it some balance. Could go being colder than I had it.

Tap. Shakespeares, Sheffield. Hazy amber. Dense, lasting, white head. Quite vinous this. Some apple. Some granary bread. Fruity hops come through after. Taste is a little sharp. Fairly bitter. Finish is more of the same. Not convinced this is right.

Pours amber with a massive grainy head.Nose shows overt fruity wild bacteria note. Some pear and apple esters.Similar flavours, more infected notes rather that proper Brett/Pedio/Lacto. Some sourness and stale wine notes. A little Belgian Pale-like sweetness.

500ml bottle from New World Fendalton, Christchurch. Pours amber with a small head. Impressive sweet nose, foreshadowing what the gums and the tongue will get to taste... Rich, full taste. Sweet, a bit of fruit, hiding the 167 IBU until the very end of the lasting finish where the bitterness for a moment says "Hi, I’m here as well" and disappears again. Very tasty.

Bottle. Clear orangish amber with a large white head that fades to a rocky inch. Aroma of peach, caramel, mildly funky dough. Medium bodied, just slightly syrupy. Sweet and fruity with peaches, apricots, lightish candi sugars. Less yeasty that suggested by the aroma. More funky than sour, some herbal notes too. Still a bit too sweet, but a pretty happy accident.

500ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium sized head. Refreshing nose, clearly NZ hops. Despite not being an IPA, the malt backbone isn’t pale at all and works perfectly with the well crafted aromatic hops body. Lasting finish. Well done, Tuatara!

500ml bottle into glass. Magnificent reptilian bottle! Floral hop nose with some cream and a little passion fruit/pineapple/umami. It’s all going on. Amber with cream white head. Hoppy fruit flavour. Aftertaste is intense bitterness,abrupt. Nice.

Mothery Kelly’s. Keg. Pretty much an opaque dark brown beer with a tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with good fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, mildly tangy and carrying a trace of lactose. Very mild roast. Light semi dry crisp finish. Clean and drinkable but pretty standard stuff. I can’t help but wonder why someone who makes the (appreciated) effort of importing beer all the way from New Zealand would include a standard porter on their manifest, especially when so many standard porters are readily available here and so many interesting New Zealand hoppy beers are brewed over there. Oh well!
