About
In 1866, the Krieger family bought the then brewery estate in the town center of Riedenburg from the Beilngrieser brewery family Schattenhofer, founded in 1756. The current owner, Michael Krieger (4th generation) took over the management of the brewery in 1970. The external economic framework for small, medium-sized breweries changed rapidly in the 1980s with the advent of the brewing industry and the mono brands. Many small breweries gave up. The brewer recognized the signs of the times at an early stage and, together with his wife Martha, developed a company concept that safeguards the continued existence of the company. Today's ecological brewing philosophy, which is equally committed to sustainability and beer quality, is based on the only responsible combination of ecology and economy. The Krieger family developed the brazen principle that quality is the top priority into an eco-socially sustainable corporate philosophy.
From 1989, after a period of preparation, the conversion to today's organic farm began. The conversion of the entire company was successfully completed in 1994. The Bavarian brewer family Krieger is an example of ecological pioneering work in Germany. Since 1994, the brewery has been the first Bavarian brewery with a holistic ecological concept on the market.

Aroma er meget sød med smag af malt bolcher og brun farin.Muld fylden er og så med note af caramel og malt.En alt i alt meget sød øl som man ikke behøver at drikke igen.

Bottle at Olaf and Steffi's, danke! Very dark brown, small head, light roasted hoppy nose. Great roasted flavor, smooth and rounded, fruity orange-citrus hop flavor with moderate bitterness. It's like a more roasted version of a black IPA. Good stuff.

Bottle shared with RJ, koszi! It’s a light and mild beer alltogether, muted, even, but fairly drinkable nevertheless. What I really liked about it is the surprising depth of malt character in the aroma: it’s bready-grainy sweet, fruity, but also savoury-spicy, somehow pastry-ish even (yea yea I know) with hints of tonka and vanilla. I dont think I ever had anything like this before, not even in emmer beers, surprisinlgy fun.

Naturtrüb und bernsteinfarben im Glas mit einer dichten, feinporigen Krone. Im Duft hefig, malzig und fruchtig mit einer honigartigen Süße und Anklängen von Vollkornbrot und Pumpernickel. Im Geschmack malzig-süßlich mit Honig und etwas Milchschokolade, fruchtig und brotig im Abgang. Ungemein süffig und durchaus mit eigenständigem Charakter.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierselect.de', best before June 2025. Black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and some dark fruits. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty and slightly fruity taste of caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice and a touch of dark fruits, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, minimally ashy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very pleasant beer.

Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido appare velato. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è deciso. La forza gustativa è elevata e la permanenza è buona e persistente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano luppolate. Il finale è amarognolo. Il retrogusto è intenso. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di miele, frutta secca, luppolo, resina, agrumi, pompelmo e ananas.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di cortile. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e la maniera in cui permane è sufficiente. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma destinata a vita breve. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine, con qualche bollicina grande. Il liquido si presenta nuvoloso. Il colore è giallo spento. Il corpo è medio. L'amaro è medio. La forza gustativa è appena percepibile. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di facile beva. In bocca l'aroma è quello di malto, miele, agrumi, erbe aromatiche, aromi dello scantinato, stantio e gesso.
