on tap at the brewery. Hazy golden, tall white head. Yeasty-malty flavours, pleasantly hoppy in the finish. Very nice, as are all the other beers from this excellent brewery and restaurant.

Chyba to to, choc z dupy w kiku opisali. Wedzonka milo serowa w nosie bardziej, w uscie zbozowo, dosc chlalno. Calkiem niezly jak na wedzonke taka jednoznaczna. Az szkoda, ze jak zawsze niemal przegiecie wedzone

Keg at Zum Franziskaner, Stockholm. Hazy nut brown, mid sized head. Rich aroma of smoky sausage. Mid dry with medium to full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Bready, solid malt, rich mild smoke. Mid bitter finish. Excellent!

Bottle at the brewpub - Hazy light amber. Peach, banana, spicy and faint smoky notes in the aroma. The taste is even less smoky with notes of banana, caramel, sultanas and orange peel detected.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 6B). Bottle 50 cl - Batch unknown (BBF 03.10.19). AROMA: initial medium smoky note with a bacon-like and woody character. malt background with a low presence and slightly toasty. APPEARANCE: amber color and clear. medium-low beige head, creamy, with average retention. TASTE: medium malt flavor with toasty notes, followed by medium to medium-low smoky presence (bacon-like). medium bitterness with an almost dry finish. slight malt balance. PALATE: medium body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a nice rauchbier with all the elements present.

Das Bamberger Rauchbier ist weltberühmt. Das von Schlenkerla ist am bekanntesten, weil am leichtesten verfügbar. Aber da gibt es ja noch die kleine, feine Brauerei Spezial… Geht farblich gerade noch als dunkles Weizen durch. Feine Rauchnote – im Geruch und geschmacklich (deutlich dezenter als beim Schlenkerla Rauchweizen). Malzige, getreidige, säuerliche und fruchtige Noten (in dieser Reihenfolge) sind ebenfalls vorhanden und fügen sich harmonisch ins Gesamtbild. Einen echten Kritikpunkt gibt es: Viel zu viel Kohlensäure. Das passt gut zu hellen, fruchtigen Bieren. Bei einem dunklen, malzigen und (in besonderen Maßen) rauchigen Bier ist dies aber meistens recht unpassend. Hier darf es gern weicher sein.

At the source. Misty orange color, off-white head. Aroma is a bit smoky mixed with orange peel notes somehow, at least that's what it reminds me of. Flavor is wheat, slightly a tart hint and a tad sweetish yeasty banana. Medium to full body, but annoying high fizzy carbonation. Meh. 5-4-6-2-9.
