Description

Generation.

Bottled. Clear, golden with a white head. Weak roasted aroma with sweet notes. Weak, roasted flavor with caramel, hints of smoke and fruits. Medium body and a finish with roasted malt and fruityness. In other words, quite nice, but also a bit boring. Rating: 5-3-5-3-11-2.7. 070119

Bottle. It pours a nice, two-finger, off-white head leaving lacings, and a slightly unclear dark golden body. Smoked, light fruity nose with pale malts and some dms. It’s a bit too heavy on the carbonation, medium to full-bodied and with flavors of pale malts, roasted hints, dms notes and a decent smokyness. A bit too gentle for my likings, but a nice beer indeed. 110722

500 ml bottle. Golden body with a white head. Aroma is quite typical pilsner (some malt and a hint of caramel) but with a discreet smoke character. Flavor is like a fresh pilsner with a hint of smoke, specially in the aftertaste. Not exactly Aecht Scherlenka.

Bottle. Copper color with a nice off-white head. Slight smoke, slight grass aroma. Subtle smoke, slight sweet malt flavor. Lingering light smoke. Easy to drink. It doesn’t have tons of smokiness, but it balances nicely with the beer.

using the dash PDA @ DBA fruit and smoke aroma. more fruit then smoke in taste. Light.

I rated this just b/c I had an oppurtunity to use a PDA and rate it right away. I forgot to mention this was on tap poured into a pint. Much fresher than bottles (which probably sit around too long). Overall, this is a fruity lagered smoked, which one does not see too often.

(On tap) Beautiful, clear orangey brown - a shade darker than the Märzen - with a small, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of roasted malt - the smoke is only a hint. Quite full-bodied with sweet notes of roasted malt and burned caramel. In the flavours the smokiness is only discreet and pleasant. Dry finish where the alcohol starts to show. Quite interesting and more harmonious than its more famous cousin from Schlenkerla. 081106

(On tap) Beautiful, clear orangey brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and a whiff of smoke. Medium body with roasted malt and some burned caramel. Enticing but not exaggerated smoke flavour - just to rouse your palate. Very subdued bitterness. 081106

(On tap) Slightly hazy amber golden with a dense, off-white head. Soft, malty aroma. Medium-bodied, sweetish malty - perhaps a wee touch of caramel, but otherwise fairly neutral without much bitterness. Decent but boring. 081106

Pours deep amber into an English pint. White micro head quickly subsides to skim rim. Sweet smoke aromas. A bit watery but smooth with distinctive smoke front to back. Slightly sweet in the finish. Not as up-front as other rauchbiers.
