24/03/2014 La Tana (handpump). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma cappuccino mediamente persistente. Al naso sentori di malti tostati, note caffettose, buona luppolatura, alcol, leggero metallico che tende via via a scomparire. In bocca ha una bella struttura, malti tostati, note caffettose, liquirizia, finale amaro lungo e persistente. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione soft. Ottima!

Draught, small creamy head, clear lightish orange colour, aroma of lychee and pomello, same traits in flavour with some grapefruit added in, medium strong bitterness. Very nice and easy to drink.

Keg at Open Baladin, Roma, 08/02/14. Very lightly hazed pale blonde with a moderate white head that retains. Nose is lemon rind, mandarin, straw, citric sherbet. Taste comprises tangy citrics, bitter orange, lemon rind, earthy, grass. Medium bodied, soft to fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff - golden blonde @6% ABV, not sure what style to have this one as mind!

10th Dec 2013: Open Baladin (Rome). Large glass from one of the many taps during a mini-lunchtime session while resting from site seeing. Dirty old gold in colour, hazy with a full white head. Fruity and yeasty nose: taste refreshing and also very fruity. The beer as a whole was fine: my first ever ’craft beer’ in Italy. Didn’t really know what to expect. This was well made and interesting, the mixed fruit aromas and flavours were a real surprise (for some reason): a real fruit salad sort of thing. Well carbonated, this suited the beer: it wouldn’t have tasted right in cask form, it needed that ’fizz’ to make it work.

Bottle. Gold with a huge white head. High carbonation, still a little syrupy. Aroma of dough, grapefruit, oranges, apricots. Very sweet with oranges and sugary dough, grapefruit. Sharp bitter finish, but it’s not very dry. Powerfully flavoured but a bit wearing.

(Bottle) Cloudy mid brown with off-white head. Aroma has pleasant yeasty esters, pepper, alcohol and hints of sweet fruitiness. Full bodies, creamy velvety with some stickiness. Interesting and unusual flavor profile. It starts characteristic if a string Belgian beer and finishes with some noticeable hoppy bitterness - guess that the Triple + IPA. The foretaste has caramel sweetness and stone fruit. Peppery spice develops and then some rather harsh bitterness leads into a long finish. The alcohol is not apparent in the taste. This is an interesting combination of styles, and quite enjoyable; however the hops are a little harsh.
