Description
Founded by Oliver Hughes & Liam Lahart, the Porterhouse Brew Co. are Ireland's pioneers of craft beer. Opening Ireland's first brewpub in the heart of Dublin, Temple Bar. Nowadays with a chain of successful bars in Dublin, London and New York the company is now producing from a state of the art brewery located in Glasnevin, Dublin. The expansion to the 120 barrel brewing facility in 2017 helps service our own bars but provides quality beer outside of the bars to consumers throughout Ireland while exporting to over 20 markets globally. The Porterhouse Brew Co. is proud to be a fully run independent brewery with a focus on consistency, quality and innovation.

7/5/2019. Draft at the Porterhouse, Temple Bar. Pours golden amber with a small whit head. Aroma of citrus, hops, tropical fruit, grass and malt. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Quite drinkable, nice aroma.

7/5/2019. Cask at the Porterhouse, Temple Bar. Pours almost black with a lasting beige head leaving good lacing. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Solid all-round stout, enjoyable.

Aroma of chocolate, raspberry ripple ice cream, sweet light rum truffle, vanilla, roasted malt and lactose. Medium sweetness and medium plus roasted bitterness. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Bitter roasted choclate finish. Good one.

Cask gravity at Hop & Anchor. It pours dark brown with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is toasty grain, roasted malt, coffee grounds, umami, cacao nibs, earthy and liquorice. The taste is smooth, toasted grain, roasted malt, liquorice, cacao nibs, rocky road, umami and coffee grounds with a dry, toasty finish. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Easy going and drinkable.

Draught, 6.5% at Porterhouse Central. Almost black colour. Clear red shine. Big stable creamy light brown head. Roasted flavour, nutty, salty, good. Just sweet enough.
