This was the first time I have had this beer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a large fluffy white head. The aroma is sour malt with a hint of citrus. The flavor is lightly malty with a hint of nut. There is a mild sweetness to the beer and a crisp light malt finish.

Orange golden Marzen with a thick fluffy white head. Nice caramel malt in aroma with light perfumy notes, and pears. In mouth, crisp malt with nutty notes, but none of the fruitiness expected from aroma, rather dry. Bitterness fades in midmouth. Medium bodied.

Deep reddish black, clear, with a nice moka head. The nose is of butterscotch and strawberries, with light vanilla chocolate. The mouth is powdery cocoa, with malt balls, burnt toast, and nice bitterness lingering. Medium bodied. Rather on the sweet but pleasant.

This was my first encounter with this beer. Sampled from an interestingly shaped 16 oz bottle this beer poured a medium caramel color with a large light tan head. The aroma is light sour malt with a hint of hops. The flavor is light sour malt with a hint of hops as well. There is a bitter sour malt finish.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Dark, very dark with a reddish tint. Filtered with a fine, creamy beige head. Soft water, but extremely dry and very bitter. Not really my style.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Lightbrown, clear and filtered with a lightbrown and pretty stable head. Actually a very pretty appearance. The prominent hop character (Kent Goldings and Fuggles) tickles the taste buds first, but also six different malts contribute to making this a very complex and well done brew.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Apparently composed from a recipe by a retired firefighter as support and homage to the policemen and rescue workers of 9/11. Amber coloured lager with a pretty decent head. Malty with excellent hop aromas.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pilsener-golden with a fairly decent head. Very light in body with some malt sweetness and a very discreet bitterness. Quite ordinary Lager-type.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Thanks to Pernille for bringing me this from NYC. Dark amber, small creamy head. Very hoppy beer (Cascade and Hallertau), which adds freshness but also brings this beer on the edge of being too sharp. Reminds me more of an IPA. I’m a bit confused as my label reads: "New Amsterdam New York Amber Lager". So is this an ale or a lager? Top- or bottom? See they’ve changed "Lager" to "Beer" on the labels now.
