Bottled "Lager", alc. 5.5%
Copper brown, not much head. A bit sweet, rubbery malty nose. Medium-bodied malty, balanced. Sweetish, a bit hoppy aftertaste.

This is the first time I have had this beer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy pale yellow with a small white head that fades quickly. The aroma is light wheat and moderate banana. The flavor is banana, a hint of citrus, light malts and a bit of a sour tang towards the finish.

This OKtoberfest pours a brownish amber with a small head. Smells of coppery malts. Tastes of malty metallic mush. Plain, ordinary, and nothing special, like many of the Saranac beers (though they do have a few that really make checking them out worthwhile).

Pours golden with a slightly amber tint. No head. Banana in the nose as well with spice and coriander. Flavor is bubblegummy and much more malt than I would have expected. Actually, not bad at all. Finishes with a lemon bite.

Bottle. Golden with almost no head. Slight wheaty armoa, but not much of one. A bit flavorless... it has a tinge of something in there, but it’s not distinguishable. Lightly tangy andmetallic... dry finish.

Golden yellow with a small head. Sweet banana spice in the nose- not strong, but just enough. Very banana flavor... actually kinda tasty. Refreshing.

Bottle... summer brews mix pack, running about $1.00 a bottle. Reddish amber with a small head. Very weak/mild armoa... slight maltiness in there, but not much of anything actually. Flavor is wheaty and candylike. Very crisp and refreshing, but kinda bland.

2005 bottle as a bonus from Shadey. I just love rating Saranac beers. They are always so simple and they are very true to what the name of the beer is. This one is no exception. I was pretty skeptical that the commercial description said "full body" but upon drinking it, while I wouldnt quite say "full" I’d give it a medium-full body, it is quite sweet and substantially malty. The aroma, true the description, has notes of cinnamon, allspice, vanilla (dont get as much clove). There is some pleasant caramel, and/or light sugary pale malt. Head pours large initially, with fair retention, spotty lacing and a clear body that is dark amber with light brown tinges. Flavor has tons of vanilla and cinnamon, some sugary sweet caramel and light pumpkin flavoring. Bit of spiciness to it and some definite crayons on the finish, not sure if that’s a product of the vanilla flavoring or not. Forced carbonation, but not obnoxious and not an overly thinned out mouthfeel, though it is filtered. I enjoyed it. Good flavor, the crayons even grew on me a bit towards the end. . .At least it has malt, that’s more than I can say for most other pumpkin beers. Thanks Shane!

Pleasant taste. Can’t say that it was anything special when I had it, but I prefer it over most macro brews.
