Saranac has such an interesting line of beers. Cheap, wide in variety and fairly decent in general. I think that if we factored price into our ratings Saranac beers would be elevated a reasonable amount. This particular beer however was a real disappointment to me. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with only a trace of a tan head. The aroma is light brown sugar and ripe fruits. The flavor is lightly fruity and has sour malt elements. The body is rather light. The finish is tangy. This beer does not in any real way remind me of a Belgian ale.
