Flavour of roast malts, lactose and mild coffee, hints of chocolate, liquorice, prunes and burnt breadcrumbs. Moderate hops. Easy drinking. Okay.

330 ml can, from the brewery. ABV is 4.7%. IBU 30, hops are Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and citrus, hints of spruce. Light bodied. Hoppy flavour, spruce, pine, tropical fruits and citrus, medium bitter finish.

750 ml white waxed bottle in wooden box, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.2%. Nearly clear pale golden colour, large white head. Intense aroma of oak, carrot juice, lactic acid and sea air. Smooth mouthfeel. Interesting flavour, lactic acid but not too sour, distinct oak, hints of mild spices and a pinch of salt, fruity notes of sweet carrots and yellow apples, moderate bitterness. A very good beer, but unfortunately not very cheap.

0,5 flaske fra Gulating Brennåsen, hjemme i solkroken dag 3 i mitt fasadevask-prosjekt (huset, ikke ansiktet): lett uklar korngylden med fint skum. Deilig maltsmak (som så ofte når man bruker Bonsak pluss litt hvetemalt) med sympatiske inntrykk av søt appelsin, nektarin og fersken i samspill med en delikat tilbakelent bitterhet. Et lite streif av krydder suser forbi i avslutningen. En blid og imøtekommende sørlending, et fint selskap til de lange og lyse sommernetter.

Bottle from Gulating. Almost clear golden body under a fine, medium sized white head. A bit weak, but clean aroma with mostly pale malt and just a hint of generic fruitiness. Taste is clean and malty, medium sweet, a fruity hint and moderate but balanced bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Pretty much a golden ale in the middle of the road, not much going on really – but have to admit that it’s an easy drinkable pleasant beer anyway. Well balanced, well made and no off flavors whatsoever.

Bottle. A lightly hazy orange-golden colored beer with a white head. Pleasant bready malt aroma, with generic fruityness and a dusty touch. It's medium-bodied, softly carbonated, and semi-dry, with a very nice maltyness. Fruity, lightly piney aroma with some dusty notes. Medium length finish. Rather uninteresting except for the maltyness. 210502

Can, as Arendal 300 År Jubileum. A hazy one, golden in color, with a dense, off-white head. Some lacing. The aroma is fruity, with a bready, almost cardboardy maltyness. Orange and some piney hints. It's medium bodied and softly carbonated, semi-dry and quite bitter on the palate, with a good dash of orange zest and orange in the flavor. Some bready, almost doughy malts too. Medium length finish. Super dull and not very good either. Rating: 4-3-4-3-9. 240303
