12 oz draft at Good People Brewing Company in Birmingham, Alabama. The pour is golden orange, slight haze, and well formed small white head. The aroma is grass, floral, fruit sweet and a nice herbal earth yeast to the back. The taste is the yeast character right away, with herbal floral, the earth almost funk, and the moving to the grass and malt sweetness, which carries the finish. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with natural carbonation and a yeast sweet finish. A touch sweeter than I prefer my Saisons, though still well made and interesting.

First quaff of the night at the imperial stout tasting, and what a way to wake up the palate. Perfect fro Cinco de Mayo too. Normal enough pour, but aroma kicks in with some Mexican chocolate and a bit of cinnamon, kind of savory. Taste has the spicy, peppery notes that work well with the chocolate and roast grains. Super smooth.

Can pour into shaker pint glass--is labeled as "American Wheat Ale" but same art work. Appearance is hazy, pale yellow with greenish tinge, nice sparkle, 1.5-finger width fizzy white head with poor retention and trace lacing at the top of the glass. Aroma is strong wheat with milder fruity yeast contribution; dominated more by yeast as it warms. Taste is hint of lemon in first half with latter half dominated by wheat cracker. Flavor gets more faint as it warms. Palate is light bodied with thin, smooth texture, average-to-lively carbonation and dry, mild wheat/yeast finish. Overall, the appearance and initial aroma holds much promise but the flavor doesn't live up to the aroma and both weaken in the glass. Too bad.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear deep gold to copper with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Pine forward nose with some light orange and grapefruit notes. Lowish carbonation. Flavors feel a bit muddled. Lingering floral tea notes, bitter pine and light grapefruit zest. Quite bitter and resinous on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hitchhiker on 26 Mar 2018 at 09:57 - Score: 6
