Description
The soul of every great beer is in the grain. Established in 2006 in barns at South Farm, Alburgh, with Oak as the first beer, Grain Brewery has since grown and grown. From originally only selling beers in farm shops, local food festivals and farmers markets in Suffolk and Norfolk, our beers are now available on draught and bottled across most of East Anglia. The Plough was the first Grain pub in 2010, with keg production starting in 2012. The Spread Eagle in Ipswich and The Corn Hall in Diss followed, and who knows what the future holds?

Cask @ Three Johns, Islington, London. Dark reddish-brown with not much of a head. Has quite a mix with a very fruit sweetened nose with some roasted malt in here too. Itโ€™s a fairly smooth tasting ale with some smoked notes and some chocolate.

Cask at the Mill, Cambridge. Clear mid-golden with a big loose white head. Citrus, hay, a bit of butter. Decent taste: bittersweet with a savoury, almost meaty quality. Finish and aftertaste have a more pronounced hop bitterness. Enjoyable and better than the sum of its parts.

Cask at the Mill, Cambridge. Cloudy yellow.a bit of skimmy white head on the top. Citrus and coriander in the aroma. Proper Witbier smell with a bit of funk. The aroma isnโ€™t intense like it is with many of the best Witbiers, but thatโ€™s ok.bittersweet taste. Bit of cheese. Chalky, light and slightly bitter palette. A pretty good shot at a pretty good style.

Bright clear gold beer, untidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth with mild fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, mildly sweet, trace of cream. Hops start with a modestly bitter floralness. The mid brings mild pine, pith, citric fruits and a nice mild peach. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Mild bitter linger. Clean and pretty drinkable.
