Black pour with brown around the edges and a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Sparse patches of lace. Aroma of malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, chocolate and coffee. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

12 oz can from Halftime. Orange golden body, cloudy, skin of white head. Aromais a perfect blend of the Belgian yeast and orange peel. Coriander adds a nice savory snap to the the zesty flavors. Sweet with a light tingle .

Corked bottle, tasted @jbrus’s place. Honey color, tiny lumps of yeast floating. Flowery citric hops and fresh cheese in the somewhat flowery aroma. Citric, "funky", cheesy flavor with grapefruit. Grassy, hopbitter aftertaste. Lovely beer!

2008 botte from TheCheeseMan, thanks! Almost black and opague. Firm dark brown head. Malt, dark chocolate and licorice in the aroma. Full bodied. Alcoholic flavor with licorice, chocolate cake and ash. Roastbitter aftertaste with laurel. A bit too alcoholic to be world class, but this is an excellent beer.

Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Dark brown color.Grapes and vanilla in the aroma. Vinous flavor with grapes, roast, vanilla and pineapple. Very nice beer, but somehow I expected more of it.

Bottle at the DC Spring RB Tasting. 2010 vintage. Thanks nimbleprop! Poured a really dark, virtually pitch black color with a small/medium sized tan head. Aroma was lots of rich malts, some age is found on this one, but not nearly as much as I would have expected for it being a 9 year old beer. Bakers chocolate, roasted malts, some dusty attic. Unadulterated. Chocolate. Roast. Super solid. Really good even 9 years later.

2010 big thanks to nimbleprop. Big roast and dry the way I like impy stouts. Black pour with good head and lacing. Dry finish with a lit caramel angle. Coffee. Dark chocolate. I really like this one. Bottle.
Unadulterated. Chocolate. Roast. Super solid. Really good even 9 years later.
