12 oz can poured, with thanks to Eugene for the can. After having to call out sick from beer enjoyment the last week, this is quite the refreshing introduction back. Juicy and quite tasty. Cloudy yellow orange pour with a fading rocky foam head. Description nails it, a dash of salt, a touch of tart, as far as both flavor and aroma are concerned. Refreshing and tart. Orange and peach front, with a lingering watermelon like tart finish. Very nice gose here. I could drink this by the drum full.

Tap at TWS. Cloudy, murky, brown. I swear I smell meat casing. But tart sour lactose and cherry fruits. Light and tart finish, lively. Again, meat casing.

Tap at the Wine Source. Gold color. Lightly sticky lacing. A little sweet, a little diesel alcohol, not astringent. Just thick malts that aren’t tasty. Not a horrible barleywine but whack anyway.

Clear light amber and copper coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of citrus, light malt, toffee and a bunch of earthy and English hops. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours up front with a bitter hoppy bite from the grassy and more assertive earthy notes along with some sweetness near the end and a rich alcohol bite. Aftertaste shows the bitter hops all throughout with a bunch of grassy and floral hop elements near the end along with the toffee and caramel sweetness. Overall, a very nice and well-balanced Imperial IPA that’s on the verge of a ’typical’ IPA, but shows good character and has some nice flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 03-September-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 18-January-2017.

12oz can poured into my new Engel sell glass, interesting shape. Very dark brown color but looks black. Aroma is dry black malts, fumy and ashy. Flavor is clean, dry ,light bitter malt, light paper. It’s fine but dull, not sure where the oatmeal is. Doesn’t seem like 8%.

Draft pour at Rustico Alexandria. Poured a nearly black color with a small tan head. Aroma was lots or roasted notes, some light earthy hop character. Light anise notes, caramel. Pretty tasty.

Cask at Rustico Alexandria. Poured a golden copper color with a small, foamy white head. Aroma was heavy grapefruit notes. Flavor is relatively muted - light sweet malts, some light caramel notes - light hoppy notes still shine, but are all dominated by light Grapefruit notes - not overly bitter or tart.
