Bottle from Co-op Supermarket, Hebden Bridge. Peach coloued with no head. More like an alcopop than a beer. Very fruity with clear citrus notes and a sweetness to match.

Cask at Great Expectations, Reading, for just £2.65 a pint. Light caramel up front and a little malt. Slightly slimy mouthfeel. The hops add a slight bitterness and not much else. Tastes like a budget bitter produced without love or indeed any thought other than the cost. Which is, I expect, the case. Drinkable and that’s it.

Keg @ Butterfly and Pig. Fairly bland, reminded me of John Smiths. Old Engine Oil was in bottles. Switched to that

Bottle. Copper color and a long lasting head. More malt than hops. Some salt. Dry malt flavor with some mineral flavor. Very English in character.

BOTTLE 50CL by Obolon Ukraine. Light malty aroma, with hints of harsh sulphur and traces of hops. The flavour is sweetish, light hoppy with an empty watery finish. At least it has got no off-flavours.

Had these in my pre-ratebeer days, and had forgotten all about them until I read an article on the zythophile blog today about marketing beer to women. I didn’t even know that was the point of these beers. They were all sweet, and the clear one was the best of a pretty poor bunch.
