Keg @ De Struise, Oosvleteren. Pours a dark purple, small pinkish white head. Aroma of rich dark berries, ribena. Flavour profile is sharp, strong, sweet, fruity with a rich blackcurrant fruitiness.. pretty decent.

Single from 604. Just had a strawberry session mead, so let's make it two. Pint glass at home. Clear, peachy-strawberry pour with a bleached, lathery thin head. Smell is medicinal, waxy, nondescript berry, very veggy. Floral honey drizzle, raspberry iced tea, strawberry soda, malic acid, bitter veg bite, light wax on the finish, maybe some oxidation. Sweet to very sweet. Low carb, medium low but constant acidity, warming for only supposedly 6%. Decent in small doses.

Poured from 375mL bottle (leftovers - thanks beerplace; 12.3% abv listed). Very dark purple with no head. Dark berry, light currant, a little bit thin, okay.

Corked bottle, courtesy of Sergey
Porto colour, which means, not bright berries, a bit dull instead. Some buttery aroma, perfume, currants. Medium body, moderate sweetness (quite low actually, for the expectations), good currant character, leading to final astringency. It's not bad, but it's mainly a fruit wine, not mead, and overall disappointing.

375ml (thx, Marc-Olivier L.!) @ Alex's becoming a former house. Appearance: very dark copper. Aroma: honey, fruits, some booze. Taste: quite dry, fruity, a lot of tannins, fruits are here, but kinda faded compared to many other meads. A bit oxidized. Overall: interesting, but I expected more.

375 ml bottle. Aroma is homey and soft berry. In the flavor the honey is the main characteristic with a soft tart berry in the finish. Simple, straight forward mead.

14%. Most years, it's 14%. Baby Duvel glass @home. Clear, metallic, still, yellow gold pour. Sharp apples, wax, white wine, caramel, bourbon-inspired heat, menthol, big red cinnamon nose. Big vanilla, sharp apples, prickly cinnamon, caramel oxidation, lingering cooked honey, lingering vanilla, slightly medicinal. Half tart, oily but sort of thin, boozy, waxy residual. Good-ish. Didn't love it.

Single can from Press. No bb or stamp anywhere. Stemless wine glass @home. Clear, ruby-colored tea. Thin ring of lace. Smells of cooked down wine, candied raspberry & earthy/waxy cooked honey. Taste is waxy sweet. Mellow, soda-ish, bit too sweet (if slightly medicinal) raspberry juice over a really earthy honey base. Hidden acid. Needs some tartness in a bad way. Frothy, syrupy, doesn't taste terrible, easy abv, just too sweet.

Can, best by 2/17/25, drunk 4/19/23 at Yunnan Kitchen. Amber, strawberry-blonde. Clear. Nose is juicy, sweet, jammy. Plentiful residual honey notes, floral, citrusy, light pepper. Not very complex, not really much raspberry depth, but good honey character, which is pretty important for a mead. Sweet, moderately to heavily so. Just enough acidity to balance. Raspberry is ok. Honey is great, sticky and succulent. Not much finesse or character.
