500ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Golden body with a dense white head. Aroma is a bit floral with yeast and hint of hops. Fresh malty, light hoppy flavor. Not extraordinary, but quite nice.

Slight unclear gold with a little white head. Grassy flowery hops in the aroma. Taste is the same with a rather harsh bitterness. The body is light thin. Some citrus freshness before a very dry end!

From tap at Bogforum at GADs booth. Pours hazy orange with dense and creamy light orange head. Aroma is mild grapefruity, fresh and a with an underlying acidity. Flavour starts mild sweet but soon goes into a solid bitterness and dryness. Ends solid bitter and with a minor metallic note but also regains some of the fruity tones. Did Jens Eiken cheat again by using a bit of American hops in a Nordic brew (as he did with Pine Bock) - at least Rolf Nielsen said that a bit of cheating had been done :)

Bark brown-red beer with medium blond head. In the aroma there are sweet fruits and little smokiness. Flavour is very sweet and there are lots of christmas fruits. Balanced beer and if you like sweet beers try this. Something missing and I can’t give top points but still pleasant beer to taste.

From tap at the brewery. Pours deep, yet still see-through, orange towards brown with a dense light yellowish head. Fruity and mild sweet toffee nose with a faint note of liqourice. Leaves nice lacing foam curtains on the glass. Flavour holds a subdued sweetness and a slight roasted caramel malt. Quite soft flavoured. Reveals a mild fruity bitter finish. Apparently this holds amarillo, quite well hidden but does show its presence in the far finish. Somewhat misplaced in a nordic terroir brew :) 6-3-7-4-13=3.3
From bottle, no 30 at Papsoes blindtasting. Pours clear amber with a lacing white head. Slight spiced aroma. Flavour is slight metallic hoppy and with dry caramel malty flavour - ends slight grassy and with a mild malt note. 5-3-5-3-10=2.6

75 cL bottle (each year since the first Jacobsen Golden Christmas Ale limited edition). Pours hazzlenut brown to amber, clear, and with a light orange and slight fizzy head. Aroma is soft caramel with a whiff of spices. Flavour starts sweet and reveals the plum juice that has been added. Goes a into a slight more spiced note before finally revealing a liqourice note from the fennel just after a good balanced bitter and slight spiced finish. Great balance and perfect for Christmas. Has a decent body, medium to full. Well done.

Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. Limited edition, bottle No. 008603. Brewed with extract of hips. Golden colour, decent head. Pleasant witbier-like aroma. Light and fresh flavour, moderately fruity, nothing spectacular but nice enough on a summer’s day.
