Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 15/05/10. Deep gold with a slight white head. Aroma of caramel and grassy hops. Flavour had sweet malts, a touch of apricots and a dry finish with a repeating, hoppy after taste. Ok.

Cask. Pours a hazy dark brown with an orange hue and a small, rough off-white head. Roasted malt and dried fruit in the nose with a whiff of butter. Medium body, almost flat, notes of dried and overripe fruit, hard roasted malt and coffee. Lightly bitter malt finish. 180110

Cask, handpump at The Royal Standard, Derby 30-01-10 in company of Loz, Simon (Haddonsman) my dad and Pauline Pours dark brown with an off-white head, some sweet mollasess on the nose and in the mouth tastes a little rough around the edges, bit of caramel, some bitterness, its ok but has been the least memorable beer of the day. A6 A3 F5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Cask at The New Oxford, Manchester. A light golden beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw as well as lighter notes of citrus and hops. The body is a bit light.

Cask at The New Oxford, Manchester. A hazy deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and toffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and toffee.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma with some hints of chocoalte. Has a toasted malty chooclate flavor with hints of caramel. Fruity malty slightly toasted caramel finish.

Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dusty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2009) Dark brown colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, nutty nose with dark fruit and dusty hops. Slightly roasty. Malty, nutty taste with notes of toast, dried fruit, cold coffee and dusty hops in the finish. Rather light body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Balanced sweetness. Nice, easy drinking, traditional bitter with a nutty malt character.
