Description
When the young Viennese banker Franz Schaup started brewing beer in 1858, he did not expect his small brewery to develop into one of the most successful breweries in Austria over the years.
In the meantime, the Zipf brewery near the Attersee has a proud 13 beers and 3 types of hops, the refreshment with hop lemonade for adults, to their range. A total of 170 employees work directly at the location in Zipf. They are the ones who ensure that everything runs smoothly every day and are responsible for a large part of the success of the Zipfer brand.
Despite the numerous technical innovations and a merger with Brau Union Österreich AG in 1970, the careful use of resources and brewing with natural hops were always in the foreground.

Bottle at GBBF 2006. Thanks to Rauchbier for this one. Cloudy gold. Lasting white head. Banana, bit of bubblegum. Too carbonated. Fruit is quite fleshy banana. Finish is quite sweet.

Test vom 8.8.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,9,9,10,9

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is nice, Lots of clove and banana. Flavor is weaker than the aroma but there is some wheat. yeast and banana in there. Just above par in my book. I could drink a few of these on a warm summer day.

Brown with a beige head.Sweet wheat malt nose. The cloying yeast overpowers the light wheat flavor, spoiling this for me

0.5l bottle (the one on the picture :)) courtesy of ozujsko (thanks!)This poured a medium sized fluffy white head that left tons of lacing and golden colour. The nose is ok. It starts with some fakeish cloves, and is subdued, but you can feel some nice traces of banana from time to time. Nice acidic lemony taste with those same fakish cloves and again, weak banana. Ugh... now I’m repeating myself. Pretty good, if not flashy... certainly better than I expected. It’s fuller and tastier than some "regular" weizens I’ve had.

A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of straw, but also light notes of caramel. The flavor is very sweet alcoholic with light notes of fruit - especially banana and peaches.

Hazy dark brownish weizen, with a thick off white head. Very nice aroma of bananas and cloves, pronounced and fresh. And the bottle is BB Sept. 05! Like Darkelf said, this held up nicely. In mouth, light crisp malt with signs of oxidation, but still a decent sweet malt and spices left. Lost a bit of its vitality. Medium bodied.
