Description
When the young Viennese banker Franz Schaup started brewing beer in 1858, he did not expect his small brewery to develop into one of the most successful breweries in Austria over the years.
In the meantime, the Zipf brewery near the Attersee has a proud 13 beers and 3 types of hops, the refreshment with hop lemonade for adults, to their range. A total of 170 employees work directly at the location in Zipf. They are the ones who ensure that everything runs smoothly every day and are responsible for a large part of the success of the Zipfer brand.
Despite the numerous technical innovations and a merger with Brau Union Österreich AG in 1970, the careful use of resources and brewing with natural hops were always in the foreground.

Hazy orange-ochre, greenish shine; yellowish, fine and very dense head. Outspoken banana, some cloves, hyper-classic nose with faint lemony and faint ginger. Rather dry peppery-citrus, ending surprisingly sweet. Again hints of dry ginger or Szechuan pepper. Quite creamy MF, carbonated & tittilating without the visual confirmation for it; bit slick. Aftertaste is spritzy-sourish. Quite classical, bit sweet Hefe. Good balance, however.

good looking Hefeweizen. Cloudy bright deep yellow with a good thick frothy long lasting head. Banana and yeast aroma with a smooth bodied sweet flavored brew that finishes nicely with a bit of wheat tang. Nice Hefeweizen.

Pale yellow colour, very carbonated. Pleasant, but unremarkable aroma. There’s not much of a taste but it’s bitter in an unpleasant way. Watery too. Doubt I would buy it ever again.

Draught. Nice head, brilliant banana aroma. Banana flavour. Very nice wheat beer. The bottled version is not as good, however.

This wheat beer pours a pale yellow colour with a bright white frothy head. The scents include a slight weiner smell I have found common in German beer. On top of that there was bread like yeast notes and a tint of alcohol. First sip was very smooth with that slight weiner flavour that wasn’t at all bad. Slightly watery with the usual yeasty notes common in a wheat beer. Palate was thin but had enough taste to be good.

Malt aroma with a hint of sourness. Nice clear light tan color with ample head. Nice malt and hops taste without a great deal of carbonation (more noted with tap beer). Only a hint of bitterness with a good palate. Maybe not the best beer but one of the best Austrian brews I’ve had. (bottle and tap).

Nice mailty aroma. Flavor very light - slight hops flavor but otherwise bland. A nonoffensive brew without much of a beer flavor. A good thirst quencher without the beer flavor to get in the way.

Bottle. Sweet fruity aroma - peach, banana and clove. Medium yellow color - cloudy with ample head. Strong clove flavor - not extremely sweet and less apple and banana flavors. On the watery side.

Subtle hops/grain aroma. Dark yellow color and nice white head. Watery, grainy flavor with a slight bitter finish but grew on me as I drank more. Not bad but don’t look too hard for it.
