Description
It started as a hobby. In 2012, four brewery friends decided to join their tasty tripel in the Brouwland Beer Competition. From a selection of more than 90 beers, our Bryggja was voted the best hobby beer in Belgium by a professional jury. The start of a great adventure! We took this opportunity with both hands and chose a name, bottle, a suitable design for our label ... With the Bruges Beer Festival 2013, our beer was launched. We brewed externally and the sales went beyond all expectations. The following year our 2nd beer "Amuse" came on the market. A spicy beer that is very suitable as an aperitif beer. At the end of 2014, the decision was made to fully go ahead and start our own brewery. We found a building in Moerkerke and in the spring of 2015 the brewing installation was installed. We only work with Belgian hops and can therefore also use the official logo. Our beer is a traditional product, with us no extracts, no flavor or foam enhancers. We like to keep it pure nature.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at One Pint Pub, 20130701) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, honey and citricness. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, honey, grass, malts and bitterness. Afteraste was fruity, hoppy and bitter. A really good hoppy tripel. Palate was a bit too boozy.

Bottle @ RBESG grand (after) tasting. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly orange, orangepeel, a touch of sweet-bitter. Decent tripel, but unexciting as it does not differ enough from other tripels. Worth a try though.

33cl Stubby bottle from De Hopduvel, Gent. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, dry white wine, some fruity esters, light spicy, alcohol. Flavour is light-malty, dry white wine, citrus, bittersweet alcohol bordering on acetone, nice bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Nice dry tripel, but not as hoppy as I expected.

Bottled@HBF2013. Hazy golden colour with a mediumsized creamy white head. Aroma is fruits, wheat, glue and mild alcohol as well. Flavour is caramel, fruits, toffee and mild alcohol. Very pleasant tripel, quite much following the very old school style tripel.

Golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, malts and fruity yeast. Bitter flavour, fruity, pronounced hops. Dry and bitter finish.
Not bad, quite fruity and pleasant, though a bit middle-of-the-road.
(Draught -I thought- @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013)

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013. Bryggja? Man that sounds more Scandinavian than Flemish to me. Pale golden with a white head. Smell is floral, cereal, white sugar, sweet bread,… Taste is sweet BE touch dough yeast, banana, white sugar & bread, light floral, hay, touch malts. Light. Once more too inoffensive & bland for me.

Sample @ Brugge Bierfest ’13. Dorée, col blanc. Retrouve ici tout le style triple surtout dans la levure. Le tout reste herbacé sur des houblons nobles donnant de fines notes citronnées. Malts donnent un profil caramel/grillé léger surpassé par la levure-ester et houblons.

Draught Fast gone whitish head, with some shards of lace; clear yellow-golden beer. Rainwater, herbal, grassy nose. Sweet-herbal flavour, cooked lemonbalm, bit soapy flavours. No alcohol discernible and seems certainly not very attenuated. Bit yeasty streak. Light, weak - a tripel? Whatever this is, a tripel is just what was aimed at.
