Beer #3 of my #7000 beer celebration - 7 on either side of the milestone. Deep brown coloured body with a ruby glow along with a rich brown and coppered glow and a thick four centimetre tall light brown head at first that fades fairly quickly and after a few moments, you've got nothing left up top. Aroma of caramel, light toffee, a touch of apples and pears, some mild grain, a dose of yeast and finishing with some honey and light earthy nuttiness. Meidum-bodied; Strong honey and very sweet flavours at first with a heavy note of malt, light grain, some nuts and earthiness, but mostly a dry, sweet and caramelised sugar flavour with a touch of yeast on the tail end and even a little bit of bread. Aftertaste is dry, but very sweet and incredibly muted for the style - this goes down very easily without any alcohol or pungency/astringency around - this is mild and showing it's age very nicely. I'm not sure what this would have tasted like when I first bought it, but i'm glad I aged it and while it didn't have too much of a complex character, this was nice and aged well. I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle purchased from Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 18-January-2015 for €2,50 sampled at home in Washington on 21-August-2018, a bit more than 3.5 years after purchase. Date on bottle (best by date?) of: 23-April-2017.

Dark beige frothy head stayed well on a thick chocolate brown body. Sweet aroma with dark spirits, demerara, parkin & malt. Medium bodied, very sharp & tingly on the tongue with a clean finish. Tastes as the aroma with demerara, Christmas cake, plum, dark spirits & tangy citrussy finish.
