Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

8oz pour at the source. Opaque, orange brown brew; mostly still. Lime, sour peach, soft vanilla. Taste is big on extra sharp berries with a follow through of vanilla whipped peaches & cream that almost gets dry right at the end. There's not too much thinking involved. Heavy acid reflux. Something I really get. Okay.

On tap @Mission, 5.6%. I incorrectly ordered a half pint during happy hour when it was basically a buck more for a whole. Dark, unfiltered apple juice pour. Not super active. Classic clove & overripe banana nose, maybe some box juice. Deep & juicy pear, this is quite fruity. Strong clove, itchy wheat, light toast on that. Lower then expected yeasty feel. Super crispy. American wheat. Good.

On tap at Waterfront in San Diego. Honey gold pour. Creamy beige head. Biscuit malt and spicy hops in the nose. Flavor is soft bready malt and peppery hops. Dank citrus leans toward lime pith and grapefruit. Dryish bitter finish.

On tap at the source. Pint glass. Pale with a very slightly deeper color than it should be. Clear, no complaints. Frothy, crispy, high CO2 across the board. Higher acidity, very subtle sharpness, light pith, more grain thank fruit. Not very much fruit at all. Satisfying though. Like.

On tap at the source in May of '22. Short goblet. Clear, honey gold. Old ale-ish, wood, subtlety stale & sharply sweet. Toasty bread, varnish, resin. Sweet at first but it dries out with tea-like tannins. Hard for 9%. I think I just don't like this style.

On tap at the source in May '22. 10% edition. 12oz baby goblet. Dark brown on black(or at least what the house lights tell me). Strong bourbon, bittersweet, acidic nose. Want more variety here. Toasty, slight acidity, warm booze. Sharp booze intro, somewhat nutty, lean grain. Maybe too much bourbon. Didn't want another. Pretty good though.

Slow pull tap at the source. Pint glass pour. Clear, dark, copper pour. Lingering lace. Generic, slightly charred, bittersweet malt nose. Crispy, slightly sharp, mix of pine & pith, maybe too sharp & tea-like. West-Coast flavors. Frothy, bigger bubbles, feels stronger than list. Meh.
