Aroma: Caramel, oak, earth, vanilla, smoke

Palate: Medium body, drinks nicely
Overall Impression: A nice beer, I like the regular Butt Head, but thought this was even better

5.4/10 Appearance 6 Aroma 6 Flavor 5 Texture 4 Overall 5.5
Location: A friend gave me a 12 oz bottle, I believe it was purchased at a Total Wine in NoVA...it came out of a 6 beer 12 bottle Tommyknocker sampler.

Aroma: Caramel, nuts, chocolate, a very sweet nose
Appearance: Nice brown color, slight red hue, thin off-white/brown head that dissipates quickly, slight lacing
Flavor: Sweet malts dominate the flavor, which is much like the nose
Palate: Lightish body, a little sticky
Overall Impression: Sure, its a bit thin, bit its not bad. I like what they are trying to do, but it could really use some additional character, as it just isn't quite there.

Aroma: Hoppy, pine, some citrus fruits
Appearance: Clearish orange, amber color, some lacing
Flavor: Nice hoppy bitterness, nice citrus fruit malty undertone
Palate: Lingering aftertaste, nice mouthfeel, and a lightish-medium body
Overall Impression: A nice example of the style, mixes the hops and malts together nicely for a hoppy beer with a nice malt backing.

5/4/09

Aroma: Coffee, Coco, Roasted malts,
Appearance: Dark brown color, thin brown head
Flavor: Flavor is light combination of the different ingredients from the nose combined together into a solid sweet flavor, definitely some honey in there as well
Palate: It is a little thin, but it drinks really nicely, not a bad beer, but I mouthfeel, but I get the thin complaints
Overall Impression: I was a little suprised to see a 19 on this one...I liked it way more then that...A nice, not great porter. I mean I'm not going to give it awards, but a 2.6 average seems low.

Aroma: Light malty nose, a little toasted grains, caramel, some fruit
Appearance: Coppery orange color, hazy-clear, thin, off-white head
Flavor: Flavor is mostly malty sweetness with mix of malt flavors
Palate: A decent mouthfeel, medium body
Overall Impression: Some decent characteristics for a lager, not a bad beer, but I guess I liked it better then most of the previous raters. I liked a lot of the way this beer works for its style.

Overall Impression: Nice flavor on this beer, enjoyed it, definitely taste some caramel, The lack of bubbles/head on this one are a little unexpected, but all in all had a nice taste to it.
