On tap at Brewdog, Oxford, Saturday 21st October 2017 on Ritual Union day in the company of John and Geraint. Not totally my thing, the smokiness and sourness are not the best of bedfellows. Sour cherries are rather blunted here by smoke. A little bit stale tasting. Ok. A5 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.8

Keg at BD SB. It pours clear deep ruby red with a small beige head. The aroma is earthy, toasty, wood, earth, umami, liquorice and soft sweetness. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, vinous, earthy, wood, tangy, faint smoke, tangy, berry, cherry stone and umami with a drying and sort of smoked finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit unbalanced. Interesting anyhow.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush on launch day. Pours dark mahogany brown with a thin white head. Aroma is cherry, malt and a little smoke. Taste is a little smoke that gets a big sour cherry hit over the top which is really drying but the smoke remains. Not bad.

33cl bottle from Waitrose, Wokingham. A pale amber pour, with a loose, fast-fading white head; aroma of straw with a hint of citrus; sweet grainy body with some lemon and sour grains to finish. Clean and refreshing.

33cl bottle from Waitrose, Wokingham. An amber pour with a thin white head; creamy grainy aroma; smooth in the mouth with a light citrus flavour to start, then developing a grapefruity bitterness; with a sweetish finish with a lingering bitterness. Good stuff.
