Originally rated December 2004. Sampled at Vineyards in Ottawa. Poured a dark colour with red highlights and a brown head with spots of lacing. Aromas were of coffee and had quite a bitter scent. The taste was slightly bitter with a mild chocolat finish. Also, there was a small fruity taste to the mouth. Mouthfeel was smooth and slightly creamy.

This beauty is courtesy of thecheeseman, I love thecheeseman! Pours a nice looking amber with tan head. It tosses up a full aroma of crumbly dry blue cheese and little else. The taste is malts, a bit of caramel malts and growing into full on blue cheese. By midway it is simply firm, dry, robust, tangy crumbly blue cheese notes. Wow! I’ve never had anything anywhere close to what this smells and tastes like, strange.

A pale blonde, lightly hazed, with a thick white head. Faint aroma of ginger pulp and light herbal spices. In mouth, a sourish concoction, with lemon, ginger root, and not much else. Watery and boring. Bottle from Mike H., May 2010.

Amber and hazy. Piney, earthy and a little bit caramelly aroma. Moderate bitterness and some earthy, slightly citrusy character. Ok, but not as bright as I’d prefer.
