6-pack at the LCBO. Pours a clean light amber colour with an off-white frothy head that has great retention and bubbly lacing. Nice mild floral hop nose with a little roasted malts. After breathing a bit, some caramel notes appear. The grapefruit hoppiness is present in the taste as well, and still on the mild side. Some grain shows up in the aftertaste well-blended with the smooth bitterness. A pretty refreshing Pale Ale that has a bit of a hoppy bite. Very easy-going and would have again.

Purchased a 6-pack of this at the LCBO. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a tad of amber. Average size white cap that disappears quickly but leave a creamy top and lacing around the glass. Grainy nose with some bread notes. Slightly crisp, slightly watery mouthfeel and medium-bodied. Cereal malt taste with hints of caramel in the finish. Not much hops found, but this is what makes this "stock ale" refreshing and a great session brew.

Originally rated December 2004. Sampled at Vineyards in Ottawa. Poured a very dark red colour and had some lacing. The aromas were roasted and very intriguing. Hard to find the right scent. Some dried raisins and other fruits. Taste was smoked and bitter with a medium-full mouthfeel.

A dark reddish clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a light smoked caramel malt with light boiled veggies, celery salt, and bacon. In mouth, a smooth peaty nutty malt with light butterscotch, fruity esters, not bad. Shared with Mike and friends, April 1, 2012.

Church key putting more batteries into the operation. This one smells smokey and tastes like flamed leather. Black pour and roasty malts give it lots of substance. on tap at volos.

Has a sweet and sour taste. Not a lot of depth, it’s just decent. I preferred the only other barley wine I’ve had at Granite.

Was told it was a pale ale and it’s good for that but seems too light on the hops if it’s an IPA. Still a definite hoppy presence, pleasant bitter without being over the top

A lightly hazed golden pils with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, a lightly off herbal malt with light band aid, autolysis. In mouth, a crisp malt with light German hops, a bit of off notes, could have been better, given this cost 10$ for a bomber. Via Probstk, tasted April 24 2011. Thanks Karl.
